Step 3

• Prepare your proposal with your EU partners. Ensure that your consortium meets the minimum requirements as indicated in the Work Programme. Please ask the research office for advice if you are unsure.

• If need be, apply for DST seed funding. The Research Office will screen your proposal should you require this (from mid Jan 2014 onwards).

• Download application form at: http://www.esastap.org.za/funding/fpseed.php

Step 4:• Follow UCT’s internal process for research proposal sign off. • The EC requires participants to be a legal entity hence UCT will be the legal participant. All

applications will be endorsed by the Research Contracts and Innovation Office (RCIP) at UCT. UCT participants must therefore ensure that they forward their applications to this office to allow sufficient time for the approval and endorsement process. Your RCIPS contact is [email protected].

• The deadline for submission to RCIPS is a minimum of FIVE working days prior to the Horizon 2020 call deadline.

• Prior to this, approval of the budget should be sought from the concerned faculty's

finance manager. In the case of the Faculty of Health Sciences, all applications need to be accompanied by a cleared FM002 (also known as a "C1") form.

• You are also welcome to contact the Research Office (Ms Renee Le Roux:

[email protected]; tel: 021 650 2431) should you require any advice on the research-related components of your application.
