My nephew has a humorous tagline on one of his social media pages. It says, “I live

where you vacation.” A bit of a rub? Most definitely. But true nevertheless. We are blessed to

live in a beautiful city. Mossy oak bays lead to sugary beaches and aquamarine coastlines. Fresh

excellent school system. Both a Naval and Air Force Base provide stability and economic

impact to our community. And neither traffic nor crime are bad. After all, most of us don’t

hesitate to shop or dine at night.

While Panama City isn’t large enough to suit some tastes, it isn’t plagued with the

turmoil of urban life. It’s not a metropolitan center, but we have concerts, shopping, and family

friendly neighborhoods. We don’t roll the sidewalks up at night. The town doesn’t shut down at

can have a pizza delivered at 11pm when your game of Spades runs over or for the last few

episodes of a Duck Dynasty marathon. Midnight craving for some McDonald’s french fries?

No problem!

You prefer small town life? Panama City has more than its logical share of greasy

schools still share a football stadium. Not exactly big city life.

Sure, Panama City isn’t the perfect place to live. We have shouldered our share of

really good people filling our streets and market place on a daily basis.

Do you know it’s important to love your city? Not only is it important, its biblical.

There was a time when the people of God found themselves living far from home and they

hated it. Some of you may be new to the Panhandle and so far it hasn’t captured your heart.

Connection News:

Let’s keep up with the growth… Lots of new faces around NBC these days! Grab someone

that you don’t know and Shake their hand, Hug their neck, and Invite them to your

connection class. Plan a fellowship if you don’t have one already on the calendar, we all love

to be together and there is no better way to connect then by breaking bread with each other.

Teachers you are doing a great Job! Class members...Keep encouraging your teachers and

make every effort to be here each Sunday morning. You are IMPORTANT to NBC!

REMINDERS:

Let’s try to be in class at least 5 minutes before 9AM

Be on the look out for new teachers in your class

Know that your staff is praying for you

Connection Tips:

Reach others for Christ

Teach scripture for life

Care about others needs

FAQ’s about NBC’s Connection Classes

1) When do these Bible studies meet? Sunday morning at 9am, before our morning worship service.

2) What happens at the Bible study? Most classes spend their time in fellowship, catching up on the happenings of one another’s lives. They share special prayer needs and minister to one another as necessary. The majority of the time is spent studying God’s Word, seeing how Scripture impacts our daily living.

3) Will I have to pray, read, or share in front of others?

Only if you want to! These studies are not meant to put you on the spot. You can sit and silently soak up the study if that is what you prefer. Or you can join the conversation. Either way is perfectly okay.

4) Is there a class for me?

Absolutely! We have classes for every age and station in life. We have classes for married couples, single adults, men’s groups, women’s groups, young adults, median adults, and senior adults. We have large classes and small classes.

5) Do I have to know a lot about the Bible to attend?

No way! The first thing you’ll notice about any group is that they are in the process of learning God’s Word. They don’t already know it.

6) Can I visit different classes before committing to one?

Feel free to visit as many classes as you’d like.

7) How do I join a Connection Class? Simply stop by the welcome Center next to the office area on Sunday morning. We’ll show you the way!

Rick Braun, Outreach Minister

It’s Been Quite a Mission! Heading up the missions effort around Northside has been a blast but all

good things must come to an end. I hate to even say it but I have to relinquish my leadership position in preparation to relocate in the near future. We are praying about moving to central Florida and seeking God’s will in this decision. Our daughter, Deanna, down in Tampa was diagnosed with FSG, a kidney disease, about 2 years ago. She will eventually need a kidney transplant and we want to be closer to help her out if and when this comes about. As a huge bonus, we will get to spoil our grandson Chandler! While it isn’t easy to leave Panama City and Northside, it may be time to find work I actually enjoy for a few years instead of just enduring a job. However, until I find a solid job in the Tampa area you are stuck with me around here. Missions will go on and I will lend a hand where possible. You folks are the finest group of people that I have ever had the pleasure of serving and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Well, with very few exceptions and minor burns, it has been an extraordinary experience and one I will treasure forever! See you around!

Restore student ministries had an amazing summer! As we begin to look forward to what God is planning during our school year, it is difficult not to look back in amazement in how He has worked in our hearts and lives!

I am excited to see how God moves us to becoming more like Him. We have awesome opportunities for youth to engage their peers and friends with the Hope of the Gospel this year!

Restore youth ministries will start our series on “Prayer” through the month of September! On September 24th we’ll be hosting a Concert Of Prayer at the Annex for youth who desire to begin praying for their schools.

This month we want to become a group who is passionate about prayer and a group that is passionate about talking with our God about real needs.

The Bible tells us that if we are a praying people, who is seeking His face and willing to turn too Him, then He hears us and is willing to forgive and begin putting our lives back together!

Be praying for our Youth Ministry as we promise to begin praying for you!

Restore Student Ministries

Parents and Volunteers We are having a meeting

on September 4th to discuss our youth ministry. We will be taking this time to evaluate where we are as a ministry and also discussing the future of our ministry.

I encourage all parents, volunteers, and anyone interested in our youth ministry to come. I value any ideas that you have so come ready to evaluate and game-plan. I am really excited about discussing the passion

God has given me and the direction I believe He is leading our ministry!

This will become a regular meeting, so if for some reason you miss this one or cannot attend be looking to future dates.
