10 a.m.–4 p.m. | Art Gallery Lied Education Center for the Arts Jeremy Caniglia, MEd’16, will exhibit paintings and drawings in a show titled “Into Purer Light.” The pieces are Caniglia’s latest figurative works and an exploratory journey into the Greek concept of the afterlife.

10:30 a.m.–4 p.m. | Dean’s Fellows Parent and Guest PresentationHixson-Lied Science Building, Room 361Hear from Tracy Leavelle, PhD, associate dean, about what it means for your student to be a member of the Dean’s Fellows Program. CU in the Classroom: The Importance of Medical Anthropology for Improving Health Care and Health Services Eppley Building, Room 211In this lecture, Laura Heinemann, PhD, associate professor of medical anthropology, will describe medical anthropology and discuss how its theories and methods are relevant for better understanding health, illness, care giving and health care. Such an understanding is essential for providing adequate health services and improving our health care system.

CU in the Classroom: The Decline of the Honey Bee: How Can We Use Technology and Science to Understand the Demise of this Valuable Pollinator?Eppley Building, Room 210In this lecture, Carol Fassbinder-Orth, PhD, professor of biology, will discuss the historical and current state of global honey bee and pollinator health, the implications of pollinator loss on our natural and agricultural ecosystems, and the use of nontraditional techniques in technology and science to better understand and predict honey bee losses.
