Attention Students
Chris Warne, our Youth Pastor, is leading a
weekly Christian School class on
Thursdays, from 3-4:30 pm. This class is
open to anyone in middle school and high
school and will begin with a short “game
time” and also have a “recess” in the middle.
This class has gotten great reviews so far.
Come have some fun, learn how to
understand your Bible even better, and even
learn a little Greek with us! If you haven’t
been able to join us yet, you can still jump in
at any time.
WONDERFUL WEDNESDAYS Wednesday Nights at 6:30 pm
We are now offering a study by Max Lucado on
John 3:16 - The Numbers of Hope. Music by Doug
Jackson will enhance our time of worship. We will
watch the DVD study as one big group and then we
will break into small groups for a study
session. Ice cream will follow. Hurrah!!!
Summer Sunday School This summer, through August, the Christian Education Committee will be offering Sunday school classes for pre-K through 5th grade.
Also this summer, Chris is coordinating Sunday Worship designed especially for our high-schoolers in the Chapel concurrent with our Sanctuary service. If you’re a high-schooler, come join us!
DISH TOWELS NEEDED
The House Committee has been busy cleaning and
sorting through a lot of items at our church. In
doing this we have discovered that we are really in
short supply of dish towels.
If you would like donate some new towels, you may
either leave them on the stage marked HOUSE
COMMITTEE or give them to me.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Linda D’Agostino, Chair
SAVE THE DATE!
On Wednesday, September 7, the Music
Committee is once again hosting our
“Welcome Back” Sanctuary Choir dinner.
Come join us at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship
Room to share in a meal prepared by Tania
Alongi & the Music Committee, followed by a
short rehearsal to prepare an anthem for
the following Sunday. This is a great
opportunity to help worship the Lord in yet
another mode here at FPCC. Prior experience
is not a requirement, just being able to
share in the joy of singing. Although the
ability to read music helps, of course, it is
not necessary; nevertheless, you might end
up reading music somewhat as a side benefit,
as I include some basic music theory in
nearly all our rehearsals! We rehearse
Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 9, then
Sunday mornings at 9:30, prior to our 10:30
service. Thus, even if you can’t make every
Wednesday rehearsal due to your schedule,
that’s OK, as you can “catch up” on Sunday
morning.
Please consider this opportunity very
prayerfully if you have any inclination toward
music; there’s so much music in our choir
library that needs a bigger group to present
effectively than we have now! And what
better way to greet our incoming Senior
Minister than with a bigger choir!
Hope to see you on the 7th at 7 in the
Fellowship Room!
Don Hodgkins,
Director of Music Ministries
Volunteers Needed The youth program at First Parish is
looking for adult volunteers who are
willing to help one evening per week
as a youth leader. No experience is
necessary, just a willingness to mentor
the youth of our church and have a
great time. The studies and games are
planned by our youth pastor, so you
won’t even have to do any planning,
unless you’d like to. Please speak with
our youth pastor, Chris Warne, if you
would like more information.
The scaffolding set up in the choir loft is in place so that the contractors can work on repairing, re-sealing, and re-painting the
plaster around the 3 stained-glass windows.
It will be in place until approximately mid-August.
SALVATION ARMY BIRTHDAY CAKES

Salvation Army housing unit to help celebrate the
birthdays of those temporarily living there. This
month’s cakes are due Wednesday, August 31st .
You can bring it the evening before or by noon on
Wednesday. For more information please call
Linda D’Agostino—781-245-0243.
