About Winston Prep At the heart of Winston Preparatory School is the belief that all students learn differently. Winston’s goal is to determine each student’s individual learning profile and to develop specific skills to achieve academic success. “There is currently no other school in New York City and only one or two in the country that I am aware of that works with learning disabled students in the profoundly helpful ways that you are doing. You are making a profound difference in the lives of children.” -Jonathan Cohen, Ph.D., A.B.P.P. “I'm deeply grateful for the confidence and self-awareness that being in the Winston Players has brought my child. It's a wonderful experience for any kid, working as part of a team to produce theater, but Winston tailors it to your kid's needs and goals, knows exactly when to encourage and when to step back, and it's a joy to see the kids come into their own.  ” -Polly Weissman, Winston Parent

“My son has caught the acting bug. Being involved with the production developed his skills and confidence… his ability to concentrate and read has grown, and through acting he has learned to maintain his focus for long periods of time. Before acting he was a butterfly. You are remarkable teachers and truly talented.” -Eve Pomerance, Winston Parent

Camp-end Main stage Production • Students will create a

full-scale musical production with a live pit-band

• Culminating in two performances for friends and family

Individual Attention in Rehearsal • Each student has a

meaningful experience daily, modified to the learning needs of each performer

Daily Arts Workshops • Students will focus on

specific skill sets in drama and music

• Scene study, Improv, Vocal Technique, and Creative Musicianship

Optional Focus Program • Extend the day with

Winston’s unique Focus Program

• One-on-one, specialized teaching - specifically tailored to each student’s needs

A Day at STAMP The first half of the day emphasizes skill development and performance objectives within the setting of large ensemble rehearsals. After lunch, students experience smaller workshop arts classes that focus on specific skill-set areas and interests.

An added benefit of the program’s structure is that the STAMP schedule parallels the academic Winston Summer Program, which affords students who are enrolled in STAMP the opportunity to extend their day with enrollment in the specialized Focus program.
