How We TeachWe take a learner-centred approach which develops core skills such as teamwork, responsibility, problem solving and critical thinking.
We make classes fun to motivate students and believe that this helps them become inquisitive, independent learners.
All our programmes develop learners’ confidence through age-appropriate themes and activities, a learning-centred approach and collaborative play. Teachers will have qualified teacher status and experience in their subject area while English language teachers have, at a minimum, a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL qualification with experience in teaching young people.
We aim to provide learners with authentic opportunities to practise their language skills such as:• Conversation in social situations• Questionnaires and quizzes in school and on trips• Problem solving as a team• Using English outside of the classroom
Why choose a NACE Summer School?
• Small class sizes• All pupils receive a minimum of 3 hours of language tuition each weekday• Many additional conversational opportunities
with native speakers• PSHE component to course to support
personal development• Exciting excursions and trips• Comprehensive activities programme • Fully qualified and police-checked staff• Accompanied travel to and from international
airports• First class facilities

How are Students Placed in Classes
When learners arrive on their first day of summer school, they complete a placement test. We find out what each pupil knows, what they want to learn and what interests and motivates them.
We place students in a class at an appropriate level where they will feel comfortable yet challenged to develop their language skills. Learners are also placed according to their age to ensure that all children are at the same stage cognitively.
How is Progress Measured? Pupils aged 8 upwards are given a weekly progress test which is in the form of a game or quiz to help them understand how much they have learnt. It allows the teachers to evaluate who is ready to move to a more challenging level or requires further support.
Observation and ReportingYounger learners are monitored and assessed by teachers through informal observation. All students receive a certificate and report upon completion of their course.

During the English School Experience, students boost their language through inspiring activities, projects and London excursions.
The programme provides students with a ‘British style’ school experience which develops a command of English language skills in academic subjects. Each week focuses on a particular theme such as culture, history, commerce or the environment. The thematic nature of the course means students learn within a meaningful context and will not repeat the same lesson or excursion, no matter how long they stay.
Every student takes a placement test on their first day so the team can group children appropriately by level of English and age.

Ages: 14-17Dates: 24th June – 23rd AugustCourse length: 1-4 weeksMaximum class size: 16 studentsLanguage teaching: 5.5 hours per dayLevels: AllNon-residential: £595 p/w
This course increases English comprehension and fluency through everyday conversation. Each week is designed around a different theme, for instance Technology and Innovation, or Art and Culture. In class, learners take part in a variety of fun yet challenging activities focusing on the interactions with native English speakers to develop and test their skills. Each lesson ends with a review in which the class considers the linguistic learning opportunities from the day. An excursion every weekday in London enhances understanding of the theme and consolidates language learning.
Confidence in speakingLearners’ independence will grow as they gain confidence in the English language and in their knowledge of London. In addition, they develop critical thinking skills by learning how to problem solve and research and analyse new information.
