Rome provides Notre Dame undergraduates with a unique environment in which to broaden their intellectual and cultural horizons. During the five-week program students take two courses and earn six credits which can include courses that fulfill university requirements. PROGRAM CALENDARFebruary 3: Application deadline

February 17: Decision date

April: Mandatory pre-departure orientation

May 24: Arrive in Rome

June 28: Departure

ELIGIBILITYAll Notre Dame students in good academic standing and in compliance with community standards.

PROGRAM FEE$8,100: all admitted students receive a $2,000 scholarship, which reduces the cost of the program to $6,100.

Financial assistance for summer study abroad programs is limited to private educational loans or the Federal PLUS (Parent) loan. University Scholarship is not offered for summer study abroad. Information and application procedures are available on the Office of Financial Aid website. Please note the April 25th deadline for some summer loan applications.

PROGRAM FEE INCLUDES:

• 6 Notre Dame credits

• Accommodation

• All program academic outings and field trips

• Transport to and from airport

• On-site program support from Notre Dame faculty

• HTH international health and emergency evacuation insurance

PROGRAM FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE: airfare (approx. $1,200), meals (approx. $1,500), passport and applicable visa fees, and personal spending money.

HOUSING AND MEALSStudents live in apartment-style accommodations. Flats are furnished and all students will have kitchen access. Students can cook for themselves or take advantage of the diverse dining opportunities that Rome offers. Meals are not included.

The entrance to the Rome Global Gateway is in Via Ostilia 15, in the Rione Celio (Caelian neighborhood), on the slopes of the Caelian hill, overlooking the Palatine, Aventine, and Esquiline hills. The newly restored building, which dates back to the turn of the 20th century, is painted the warm yellow ochre typical of Rome’s center. Its windows open onto Via Ostilia and two side roads, Via dei S.S. Quattro and Via Capo d’Africa.
