The Adventure starts here!

The Outdoor Activities team have been running our Youth Adventure Programme for over 17 years and this year has all your favourites set in some of Scotland’s best locations.

Taking place in spectacular scenery in challenging, adventurous surroundings or in our newly built Helix Lagoon, you are guaranteed to have an adventure.

Our team of instructors are valued for their people skills as much as their technical abilities, ensuring your time is action packed, fun, safe and enjoyable.

This summer we will once again be offering a childcare element to the service by opening our doors at 0830 in the morning and remaining open until 1700 after the activity has ended. During non-activity time participants will be closely supervised at the centre.

Our activities all begin at 0900 and end at 1630.

Outdoor Activities OfficeOur main office is situated at Victoria Buildings Annexe, Queen Street, Falkirk.

All bookings are to be made through the Falkirk stadium. Please note we still need a signed copy of our under 18s medical form before the start of the activity.

• By Phone – 01324 590940, Monday to Friday 9am until 7pm.

• In Person – Please pop into the Falkirk Stadium Suite 1A, Monday to Friday 9am until 7pm.

• By Post – Please enclose a under 18’s medical form, booking form and payment. Please send payment to Falkirk Community Trust, Suite 1A, the Falkirk Stadium, 4 Stadium Way, Falkirk, FK2 9EE.

Please Note: • We only take bookings on receipt of payment, we cannot accept provisional bookings over the phone.

• Confirmation of booking will be sent to your address, you will only hear further from us if your course has to be altered.

• We require an original medical form at the centre before the activity takes place. Please ensure this is sent in to Victoria Buildings prior to the activity date.

BEGINNER to LEVEL 3 B - No experience 1 - One or two previous experiences 2 - Good Knowledge 3 – Intermediate

Venues: For some courses the venues are not specified this is due to the nature of the activities and possibility of change.

We will confirm the venue nearer the time.

Activity Levels: Our Activity courses are graded so everyone can get the most enjoyment out of their day. Please try to avoid booking onto a course above the participant’s ability level.

Mountain Biking

Adventure DaysFive days filled with the adventure of your choice; with options as varied as gorge walking to blokarting you can fill your week with a tremendous amount of fun.

CanoeingBig boats equal big fun. Taking place in a local loch, you might get to visit a cave, an island or a ruined castle.

Kayaking Our loch based kayaking courses are a great way to explore some stunning areas. Not only will you learn new skills, you’re guaranteed to have a huge amount of fun.

River KayakingA brilliant day for more experienced kayakers. If you haven’t worn a spray deck before try our beginners kayaking course first before booking for a river trip.

White Water RaftingUp to eight people in a raft for some serious fun down one of Scotland’s classic rivers. Getting wet is guaranteed along with the rush of open water! Open to all abilities with a sense of adventure.

Rock climbing / AbseilingRock climbing at a local crag or if the weather isn’t playing we’ll go indoor climbing. We can take anyone from absolute beginners to budding mountaineers. Join us and show us how high you can climb.

Gorge WalkingThis may be our easiest rock and water activity but the challenge is still there! Just don’t walk away too much; there may be waterfalls and jumps to be had!

CanyoningExploring bigger canyons, where committing jumps and using ropes to abseil are essential to get down safely. For the more experienced adventurer only.

CoasteeringClimb, jump and swim along a beautiful stretch of coast on this action packed adventure. You don’t have to be a strong swimmer to enjoy this activity and all the jumps are optional.

BlokartingSailing, but on land! Powered by the wind and inches above the ground, this is a fantastic experience. We really need the wind for this one so if the weather isn’t playing, we’ll take part in another adventure. Mountain BikingMountain biking on single track terrain. This summer we will run bike sessions to suit all needs, from beginner to more experienced riders. For those who want to explore a little further we are running a mountain biking expedition.

BushcraftLearn a bit about surviving in the woods, build shelters, light a fire and get involved in a whole lot of fun! Based in Muiravonside Country Park this course will appeal to anyone who just loves being out of doors.

CanoeingIntroductory 1½hr sessions in our open canoes for beginners. No experience required – learn how to control the boat and how teamwork makes life easier.

KayakingIntroductory 1½hr sessions in our kayaks for beginners. No experience required – learn the skills needed to have fun on the water.

KatakanuIntroductory 1½ hr sessions in our open canoes for beginners. No experience required – learn how to control the boat and how teamwork makes life easier.

Paddlepower AwardsPractical lessons for those wanting to improve their skills, where progress is certificated. This course runs to Scottish Canoe Association standards. The five Paddlepower Awards are: Start, Passport, Discover, Explore and Excel.

Each award builds on the last to help the paddler become more confident and skilled on the water. These courses run regularly throughout the holiday period and we envisage an informal club element developing for regular participants.
