All students enrolled in Adventure Club at Sandburg will be able to choose from a wide variety of Summer Activities classes. Students enrolled in The Basement also have this option. The cost of most classes will be included in your tuition, however some classes require an additional fee.

Swimming Lessons will be available for students from all sites for an additional fee of $50 per session. A detailed list of dates and times lessons are available for each site will be available by March 15th. For more information on classes go to: https://rdale.ce.feepay.com/courses/swimming-1/

Students entering 6th-9th grade are invited to join us at The Basement for fun, relaxation and adventure. Water parks, bowling, trips to the mall, going out for lunch, movies, Valleyfair, hanging out with friends, cooking, reading, games and sports are just some of the choices available this summer.

The Basement is especially designed for students in middle school as they grow into responsible teens. At times, students will have the opportunity to be outside of the direct supervision of adults with clear expectations about appropriate boundaries

the summer. Abuse of rules, check-in times and set parameters will result in the loss of privilege in this area. Attention is given to the needs of young teens and pre-teens and at times different ages may have different boundaries in terms of supervision. We encourage students to be independent, but provide support for safety and learning.

A list of scheduled trips will be available in mid-March. Some of the trips you can expect include Valleyfair, water parks, bowling, and the mall. In addition to the scheduled trips we have left space for the students to plan some of our trips. Our location on the city bus line also allows for impromptu small group trips around the community!

Detailed information will be posted on the Robbinsdale Area Schools Community Education website ced.rdale.org by March 30.

Robbinsdale Area Schools is committed to providing multiple pathways for students to access high school math courses to earn college credit (i.e. AP-Calculus). Towards that end, summer math “Boost” courses are an option for 6th through 11th grade students who want to independently cover the material in one of the following courses:

Pre-Algebra Algebra 1 (Linear Algebra) Higher Algebra (High School Algebra)Geometry Algebra IIPre-Calculus

The Summer Boost option is available for advancement or for review.

Students who master the material are allowed to advance to the next logical math course in the fall.

Students do not receive credit for the course covered.

The program is offered at a low cost of $35 for district students. Students on free lunch will pay $8.75. Non-residents are welcome in the program for a fee of $75.

Students can choose to advance a grade-level in math, or review the last course they just completed.

The location for Summer “Boost” will be Sandburg Learning Center.

This program is intended for those students who can study independently.

A course book is available if needed.

Teacher-led study sessions are available once a week throughout the summer. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommended.

Students also have the support of the online Compass Odyssey Computer Program. The middle school program will be primarily a self-directed class using Compass Odyssey with once-a-week classroom support.

Students can also email the teacher if questions arise.

To show mastery of the material, students must score at least an 80%

studying.

Students must have both exams completed by August 14.

Teachers will contact school counselors by August 19 with the names of all students who have demonstrated mastery. Counselors will then change the fall math course in which those students are enrolled.

Teachers will contact all students with their results by August 21.
