How SRP works: Families can join in during our Summer Reading Program intwo ways: 1. Attend various events that are scheduled throughout the summer. 2. Participate in the independent reading portion of the Summer Reading Program. Each child will get a log to keep track of the books read each week. Sometime during the week, the child can come in, get a sticker, and put a penny in the jar for each book read. At the end of the summer, the pennies are given away! Feel free to participate in the way that works best for you and your family. You can do both 1 and 2, just 1, or just 2. It is up to you!
Why do you have different programs for different ages?
Great question! The reason we do this is so that we can deliver more age appropriate materials to each group. This allows us to cater better to each group for songs, activities, and crafts. There is a big difference between what we can offer to keep a 2 year old interested vs. a 9 year old. Also, it allows us to keep the little ones away from items like buttons or small craft items that might be used during the older child programming.
