Memorial Day is upon us. It’s the official beginning of summer and all the warm weather activities summer brings. Growing up in Indiana, Memorial Day was always a big deal. It is the home of the Indianapolis 500 after all, and that too, was a big deal. But before the race, we stopped, we paused, we visited cemeteries and public memorials. We paused to give thanks and honor the lives of those who served. It’s a day to thank God for our country and the freedoms we have. This is a weekend we honor those who have given their lives for our freedom. We thank God for them and their service - even as we gather with family and grill those burgers. Enjoy your weekend! Celebrate and give thanks! Be safe! Get rest! We’ll see you soon!

Extended Care is available for children who are potty trained/age 3 through children enter-
ing 8th grade. We will be open June 1st through August 13th Monday through Friday from
7am. to 6pm with a reservation.
Drop in care is available for emergencies, if staff is available. We will be closed July 5. The
LAST DAY of Summer Extended Care will be August 13th.
Immanuel Worships Together!
For those who have been attending in person church you have heard about our change in worship times which begins on June 20—you will be receiving more information about all this in the mail during the next few weeks. Our Saturday afternoon worship remains at 5 (registration still re-quired) and Sunday morning worship changes to 8 and 10:30 (no registra-tion needed for Sunday worship)—all this begins on Sunday, June 20. Join us for in person worship.
Summer Bible study takes place on Sunday morning from 9 to 9:45. Come and experience some wonderful fellowship as we open up God’s Word and hear Him speak to us. What a gift to abide in the Word and to be drawn closer to our Savior’s side.

General Music Class News
Gr. K-7 Google MUSIC Classroom still available in June, July and August for fun, learning, and exploration throughout the summer:
• music related websites-some for learning and some just for fun (links provided)
• link to beta.MusicPlayOnline.com, a favorite site for many elementary students (our Immanuel student pass-word is i289777)
• recordings and/or lyrics for songs like “Pizza Hut”, “The Fruit of the Spirit”, and the “Friday Song”
• videos to watch-including some great ones just to get you moving and smiling
• instructional videos and websites for creating music online
iPad apps and games to try
(Note: This is different from their main classroom page-and you’ll still need to use your child’s [email protected] address and ILS student # (ILS_ _ _ _ _ ) to access videos, etc.--Your child should know that number from computer classes.) Email Mrs. Bartelt at: [email protected] with access questions.
Parents of Students EXITING Fifth Grade: Still have a recorder that your child won’t use (we won’t use the recorder in junior high music classes)? Mrs. Bartelt can always use extras…so if you are wondering what to do with that recorder, please consider giving it back to school for future students to use. Any recorder donations can be given to the church or school secretary. Thanks!
Parents of OUTGOING 8th Graders-- If you find that after your 8th grader graduates that your family will not be needing the maroon hymnal (Lutheran Service Book) your student used here at Immanuel, and it is still in reasonably good condition, please consider “recycling” it back to the school office. We will then make it available to a student/family for whom the cost of a new one for the next school year would create a hardship. Thank you.
Manna News:
What is Manna? Manna is a fundraising program that offers individual gift certificates to many businesses. Immanuel families have the opportunity to pre-order gift cards online or by submitting a paper form to the school or church. Each gift card will earn a percentage of profit, as shown on the order sheet. Please visit the Manna website at www.shopwithscrip.com for the current gift cards available. Online ordering and payment is also available, please contact us for your sign on information and follow the online instructions. You can choose how you want to have your profit spent. Please make sure to clearly state whether you are contributing to Church, Tuition/PTL, ALL PTL, Youth, or Scholarship.

Summer manna order dates will be June 13th, July 11th, August 1st, August 15th, and August 29th. All summer orders may be picked up in the church office. You may order online or through paper order NO LATER THAN NOON on the day of the order. Orders are available for pick-up the Wednesday following an order date at your chosen location (church or school office/summer will be church office only). Please see information on our website and check out shop-withscrip.com for all available physical gift cards as well as eGift cards. Kids Summer Art Camp
I missed doing art with all of you!
This year I will have different projects than last year!!!
We will be using clay, paint on canvas, drawing with pencils
(If you have a paint shirt, be sure to bring it, you will get messy!!!)
Where: NEW LOCATION! Luther Hall in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dundee, Ill.
Dates: July 12- 16
Younger Kids Session: 9-11 am for kids grade 1-4
Older Kids Session: 1-3 pm for kids grade 5-teen
Cost: $100 ($20/day)
(for planning purposes and fees, please let me know if your child will not be attending the full week)
We will host an Art show on Friday July 16 after our camp time at 11am for younger kids session, and 3pm for the older kids session (both will be in Luther Hall)

SPORTS CAMP INFORMATION
Volleyball Camp will be the week of May 24 at LifeZone for all students entering grades 1-8.
Basketball Camp
Will be the week of June 1 at Immanuel for boys entering grades 3-8 and girls entering grades 5-8.
