2. You will be asked to pick the appropriate year and fill in your camper’s information

3. Afterwards you will be prompted to select the location, week and camp of your choice

4. Then follow the instructions to checkout

5. After you have completed your registration, please log onto your camp account and fill out all the required forms.

Dear Campers and Families,Welcome to the 2019 Summer Camp Season at Merritt Clubs! I want to take this time to welcome back any of our campers who are returning from last year, and give a special shout out to any of our new campers coming to us for the first time. We offer a variety of programs and events for all ages to ensure that every child has the best summer possible. Every year, we research and develop new ways to make our Summer Program better than the last and I know that this year will be the best we have ever had!

Our summer camps brochure was created to help parents find the best option for their child(ren). This brochure will explain what to expect this summer. If you have any questions regarding our programs, please feel free to contact the Camp Director at the location your child will be attending. We are happy to assist with any questions or concerns.

To finalize your registration, all families must complete the enrollment forms online. Payment is due at the time of registration. Please, ensure that the following information from the online enrollment forms are complete:• 2019 Registration Agreement• 2019 Registration Form• 2019 Emergency Contact• 2019 Medication Administration Authorization Form (DHMH 4758) must be completed and

Please note that camp fees must be paid in full prior to the first of the month in which your child will be attending camp. Discounts only apply for camp payments made in full at the time of registration.

GRADES PRE-K – KMINI-SPLASHERSCampers will begin their day with water games focused on improving water skills. There will also be a daily small group swim lesson. Each session will have crafts and group activities and games based on the Camp Theme. Before care is available. Campers must be potty-trained for this camp.

EVERYDAY HEROESHeroes come in all shapes and sizes. This week we will explore the world of real-life heroes such as firefighters, police officers, doctors, military members, local figures and much more. Join us as we learn through interaction with real life heroes from right here in our community.

FIT & FUNYou’re going to camp at the best health club in Baltimore! Why not engage in activities to build a healthy and happy lifestyle? Children will participate in various conditioning activities that will help develop fundamental physical skills and movements such as running, jumping, throwing, and lifting. Each day of camp this week will end with the preparation of a healthy snack that children of all ages can create.

HEY KIDS! LET’S COOK!Let’s take your cooking skills to the next level. Learn fun, easy recipes that you can do at home without needing an oven or stove. This camp will challenge you to create and design yummy treats that the whole family will love as well as teach you skills to live healthy, happy productive lives.




HOORAY FOR THE USAFilled with fireworks and fun the 4th of July is

always an explosive celebration! In honor of Independence Day your child will have the chance to learn more about the meaning of the 4th of July as well as enjoy an entire week of patriotic games, crafts and activities.

JUNIOR ZOOKEEPERCome experience a fun filled week of wild adventures. Campers will explore different animals and their habitats each day. There will be a surprise visit during the week from some of our furry, or not so furry friends!




KICK OFF TO SUMMERFrom knocking down cans to eating caramel candied apples, carnivals are fun for all ages. Let’s kickoff the Summer of 2019 with the biggest carnival in the city. Enjoy an entire week of tight rope walking, juggling, games and activities that will help us start off the summer with a bang!




LET’S GO TO THE MOVIESEveryone loves going to the movies! Join us in an entire week of movies where we will feature a different showing each day. Participate in games, crafts and activities based off the movie you enjoyed that day.

NATURE SURVIVORWe will spend the week using our imagination to handle real life situations. Learn how to put up a tent, cook using just the sunlight and develop crafts with real life nature supplies. Campers will also learn the importance of teamwork to overcome challenges and obstacles.




SCIENCE AND SPACE WEEK3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!!! This week we will not only explore the wonders of science through hands on experiments, campers will also go over the moon as we travel through space. Activities will consist of science experiments that can be done in seconds as well as developing our very own planet mobiles.

AROUND THE WORLD JUNIORIt is time to travel to exotic places without even leaving town. Come get your passport stamped as we travel around the world to learn about the culture, environment, animals and cuisine from places around our great planet. Find out how it really is a small world after all. Camp schedule will offer pool times on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for our half day participants.

DR. SEUSS AND FRIENDSOh, the places you will go this week as we play, dance, sing and create in the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. From Whose-It’s to Wockets and Once-lers in Pockets we will rhyme our way through a week of reading and using our imagination as we re-create the magic of these childhood classic tales. Don’t be surprised if you meet a few of Dr. Seuss partners in rhyme like Shel Silverstein and Bill Martin Jr. Camp schedule will offer pool times on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for our half day participants. (Camp is closed July 4th for the Holiday)

JEDI TRAINING CAMPAre you interested in the

Force? Are you looking to wield a light saber? Are you

ready to protect your planet against the Dark Side? Then this is

the camp that you have been waiting for. Come join us as we fly at light speed through the

galaxy to become a Jedi and release the warrior inside! Camp schedule will offer pool times on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for our half day participants.

MINI SPLASHERSCampers will begin their day with water games that will incorporate tips on needed swim skills. They will also get a set of lessons every day mixed with crafts and group games outside of the water. Each week will have a special theme.

PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILESTake an adventure with us as we race, conduct, soar and float through the world of motion. Campers will create crafts, ride the rails, be a part of a pit crew and build life sized boats in a week filled with movement and creativity. PLANET EARTH ADVENTURE JUNIORWe are going to learn about how we can help our world become a better place for all of us to live. Take an adventure with us under the sea to learn more about ocean conservation and then trek through the rain forests as we discuss endangered species. Our focus is to reduce, reuse, recycle and re-purpose as well as grow, grow, grow a healthier community! Camp schedule will offer pool times on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for our half day participants.

SECRET AGENT SPYAttention Boys and Girls! Your Mission… should you choose to accept it… is to train as a Secret Agent with your friends. Please report to Spy Camp at Merritt Clubs for a thrilling, creative week of solving mysteries and using your skills as you decode the riddle, defuse the bombs and catch the bad guy in an all-out spy hunt. Camp schedule will offer pool times on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for our half day participants.

SUPER HERO Become a superhero with this dynamic camp! Kids will participate in relays, obstacle courses, fitness tests and games. Every day there will be a themed craft and pool time to add to the fun. Your child will learn about their favorite superheroes and embark on an adventure each day! Camp schedule will offer pool times on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for our half day participants.

TIME TRAVELER JUNIORJump in our travel machine and take a trip through history this week! Learn about the Jurassic Period, the Wild West, Ancient Egypt and much more. Each day we will “travel” to another time to learn about the history of this great planet and how humans can be so different and yet so alike! Camp schedule will offer pool times on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for our half day participants.

GRADES 1 – 4AMERICAN GIRL (AGD –Historical Dolls)Everyone has a story to tell and this week we will journey through time learning about the stories of some of the beloved historic American Girl Dolls. Through story, craft, play and motion, campers will take a trip each day to another year in history and learn how being strong and true to themselves can make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others. Camp schedule will include free swim daily, time varies per day.

Don’t forget to bring your doll. (Please label all dolls and accessories with your child’s name.)

AMERICAN GIRL (Be Strong, Be Brave, Be-YOU-Tiful) What does it mean to be an American Girl? Girls will express themselves while learning how they can make a difference. The camp will guide campers through stories and characteristics of the beloved American Girl Doll collection. Camp schedule will include an hour and a half of free swim daily, time varies per day.

Don’t forget to bring your doll. (Please label all dolls and accessories with your child’s name.)

GRADES 2 – 5AMAZING ANIMALSJoin us as we dive into the world of the most amazing animals. We will talk about the rare, eclectic, funny and weird species that roam our earth. Learn about habitats, crazy animal facts, eating habits and much more. Did you know that a narwhals tusk is actually an exaggerated front left tooth and that baby elephants suck their trunks for comfort just like a pacifier? Find out more all week in Amazing Animals. Camp schedule will include free swim daily, time varies per day.

ARTArt camp encourages children to let out their inner artist, regardless of their ability. We’ll foster individual expression while teaching new skills, ideas and techniques. Artists, their themes and methods will also be explored. Campers will have gym and pool time every day. There will be an art show at the end of the week to display the talented camper’s efforts. Camp schedule will include an hour and a half of free swim daily.

CHEERCampers get ready to get your “Cheer On” and learn all there is to know about being a cheerleader. Basic Fundamentals of the sport – jumps, chants, dances, and safety – as well as learning Pom and Dance routines to show off on Friday in the “Cheer Show” for parents. Camp schedule will include an hour and a half of free swim daily.

Grades: 2 – 5



CSIInterested in problem solving, evidence collecting, and how a crime scene works? Campers will learn the art of crime solving as they learn about fingerprints, trace evidence, handwriting analysis and deductive reasoning as they figure out “who dunnit” in a week-long investigation? Camp schedule will include an hour and a half of free swim daily.

Grades: 2 – 5

DANCEThis camp is for children that love to dance and want to explore all different types of dance. Technique in the studio will vary daily and students can expect to learn a variety of different dance styles. Along with dancing, every day will include a craft and pool time. At the end of each week, there will be a performance for family and friends! Camp schedule will include an hour and a half of free swim daily.

MUSICAL THEATERFor children who love to sing, act and dance, this camp allows students to learn techniques through games and scene study. Students will also study improv; learn theater terminology and much more! Pool time and crafts will be a fun part of each day. AGES 13 – 15 ONLYCIT (COUNSELOR IN TRAINING) Are you interested in working in a camp setting in the future? Learn the skills you need to become the next Merritt Summer Camp Counselor. This camp will give a hands-on approach as to how to work with children in a group environment. We complete training activities that are part of our real on the job counselor training program. Campers will have the opportunity to design and create their own camp activities and crafts and will shadow camp counselors throughout the week. Training will be provided by senior camp staff as well as Camp Directors and Administrators.

(Upon completion campers will have the opportunity to work as a CIT at up to 3 additional camps at Merritt throughout the summer. Cost for CIT position is ½ off regular camp pricing, no additional discounts can be applied).

SCIENCE AND SPACE 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!!! This week we will not only explore the wonders of science through hands on experiments, campers will also go over the moon as we travel through space. Activities will consist of a rubber band shooting contest, making rainbows, clouds and salt crystals, as well as other science experiments that can be done in seconds. Campers will also develop their very own planet mobile.

GRADES PRE-K – 1TINY TOTS Little ones will have an opportunity to learn and explore exciting topics from different types of animals to fun topics like science. The day will be filled with crafts and activities pertaining to the themed week they are registered.

Is your little one obsessed with superheroes or supervillains? This camp

will be perfect for them. Your child will learn about their favorite superheroes or supervillains and embark on an adventure each day! The campers will participate in relay races, obstacle courses, fitness test and games to prepare to be a proper supervillain or superhero.

GRADES 4 – 9BRAIN GAMES This camp is to get your little brainiac thinking but in the funniest way possible. Your camper will have the opportunity to play games that will teach them how to strategize and allows them to use their wits.

TASTE OF CULTURECampers will learn about cultures and customs from all over the world. We will also prepare authentic dishes from the cultures we study. Children with KNOWN food allergies should not enroll in this camp.

CINEMA Explore the wonderful world of cinema with a look at movies through the decades. Campers will watch movies and participate in interactive cinema games, crafts. The week will include an original movie production script, acted and filmed by the campers with a “Private Movie Screening” and awards ceremony Friday.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARDCampers will be taught water safety rules, basic boating safety and skills to assist a distressed swimmer. Swimming skills will also be taught and practiced as part of this camp as well as rescue skills and proper use of safety equipment.

GRADES 5 – 9ART Art camp encourages children to let out their inner artist, regardless of their ability. We’ll foster individual expression while teaching new skills, ideas and techniques. Artists, their themes and methods will be explored. Campers will have gym and pool time every day. There will be an art show at the end of the week to display the talented camper’s efforts.

THIS IS LIFEThis camp will prepare your preteens for real life challenges. Your camper on will be prepped on how to properly handle teenage issues, from everything to life
