Dear Parents

The most awaited vacation of the year are around the corner. It is a wonderful time to relax, enjoy ice-creams

and spend quality time with our families. At the same time, it is a time to revise the work done in the previous

months. Here are some suggestions to make the vacation a memorable one.

Play with them, tell them stories and talk to them about their problems, aspirations etc.

Tell them anecdotes and share your experiences about summer vacations when you were in school and

give them a glimpse into your childhood.

Help them set and achieve goals for self-improvement and motivate them by your own active

participation (for example managing anger, meditating for calmness, cycling and yoga for fitness)

Encourage them to read, dance, paint and sing. Motivate them to pursue a hobby.

The homework assignments and activities are designed to help the students explore their own creativity

as they attempt each of the fun-filled subject enrichment activities. Help them to create something truly

magical in the process.

Focus and develop an effective diet routine for your child and always remind him/her ti stay hydrated by

drinking a lot of water and fluids.

Talk to your child about the bigger purpose of their life and life skills. Cultivate positive perspective

towards life.

I hope that these suggestions would help to cement the bond between you and the children as well as help us to

Dear Students

Two months of the new academic year have already passed and we are looking forward to the summer

vacations with a lot of excitement. Summer vacation is both a time for relaxation as well as a perfect interval to

analyse one’s performance and take measures for improvements. It is therefore imperative to spend the holidays

in a planned manner. Here are some suggestions, which we feel would make your vacations more rewarding.

1. Get up before sunrise and watch the various shades of the sky as the sun comes up. Take a brisk morning

walk and listen to the melodious chirping of birds. Spend some time doing yoga and meditation and other

exercises to remain fit and fresh. Try to observe the calmness and other changes you feel in yourself and

write about your experience in your personal diary.

2. Summer activities like reading and journal writing can help you explore your creativity and enhance your

vocabulary. Keep a journal about your activities, memorable experiences, funny anecdotes, progress made in

rectifying problem areas etc.

3. Develop a new life-skill, be it learning simple stitching or making a few healthy snacks.

4. Watch interesting documentaries, read magazines and solve crossword puzzles etc.

5. Take a break from social networking and talk to your elders about their experiences during the summer

vacation when they were in school and help out with household chores.

6. Write a letter to your parents, sharing your deepest feelings with them that are often left unsaid in the

commotion of your daily routine and submit the same to your Class Incharge.

7. Revise and practice all the work done before the vacation as you would be appearing for your Half Yearly

Exams shortly after the vacations.

8. Under parental supervision, students can make use of apps like Word Search, 4 Pics One Word, Word

Cookies, IEO etc. to enhance their vocabulary.

9. The E-Magazine is an excellent platform to showcase students’ original compositions and artistic

creations. The students may send self composed poems, stories, facts, crosswords on the following

email id for Class 5.

I hope these suggestions will help you to spend your vacations in a fruitful and interesting manner. I hope that

everyone has a very happy and restful summer vacation. I look forward to seeing all of you again in July, ardent

and eager to learn.
