Summer is here and there is no better way to get involved than to connect with your friends and neighbors throughout the summer at our Chambers two big community events, Cary Cruise Night and the Cary Farmers Market. Both events kick-off the first week of June. These two events are attended by crowds of people each week, bringing together local residents, businesses, and attendees from surrounding areas. It’s finally time to get out of the house and enjoy spending time in your community. I am proud to be involved in all that the Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce does for the Cary Grove area. It’s

really great to walk through the streets of downtown Cary on Wednesday nights to see the crowds of people mingling, admiring cars, and enjoying the outdoors at Cary Cruise Night. Or when I walk through the Cary Farmers Market on Sunday morning and people are waiting for the market to open at 9:00 a.m. I am proud of these events because they raise the quality of life in our community. They are the types of community events that help drive the talented people who work in our local businesses to live here. Cary Cruise Night kicks off on Wednesday, June 3, and continues weekly on Wednesdays through August. Chamber staff and the Cruise Night Committee will be on the street each week making sure that all residents have a safe and enjoyable time. As with most events, we would not be able to succeed without volunteers who get involved in our community. At the Cary Farmers Market, every Sunday from June through September, we bring

fresh produce and specialty foods from local farmers to our community. Now in its fifth season, the Cary Farmers Market has grown, and new vendors now seek out our town as a hot spot for small local producers to put their products in front consumers. The Farmers Market has also become a gathering and meeting place on Sunday morning for friends to wander from booth to booth exploring the many unique and healthy food choices available. As I walk through the market and see shoppers carrying bags full of groceries, I could not be prouder of our chamber involvement in our community. At both of these events, the Chamber sets up a booth so please stop by and ask how you can get more involved in your community. A quick hint: Cary Main Street Fest is September 19/20 and we need lots of volunteers. Like Cary Main Street Fest on Facebook for updates on opportunities to get involved!Happy Summer
