He lends a helping hand to support music whenever he can, and has been a participant in Rockford Barbershoppers, church choirs, and local bands. He has performed at various bluegrass festivals and jamborees, and enjoys playing music as well as teaching it.

Finger Style Bluegrass Banjo (Beginning/Intermediate)(Adult) Play 5 string banjo bluegrass music with fingering techniques. Finger picking requires the use of more than one finger on the right hand, and it can be a little more difficult than simple strumming. Use all the fingers on your right hand to pluck the strings, each individually. Each finger has a finger pick on it to pluck the strings. It’s really not that hard to do and the results are well worth the practice it takes to get comfortable with it!

Finger Style Guitar (Beginning/Intermediate)

(Adult) Play the guitar by plucking the strings directly with the fingertips, fingernails, or picks attached to fingers, as

opposed to flat-picking (picking individual notes with a single pick). Because notes are struck by individual fingers rather than the hand working

as a single unit, finger style playing allows the guitarist to perform several musical elements

simultaneously.
