SULFOLANE is a high polar compound with good heat stability. It is easily mixed with water and therefore can be a favorable solvent for many organic compounds. In addition to acid gas removal, it is used for various applications including aromatic hydrocarbon extraction, low-boiling alcohol separation, and fractional distillation of wood tar.
