 CHAPTER OFFICERS Knights of Columbus Vol. 15 No. 8 February 2016 SUFFOLK CHAPTER NEWS From the Chapter Chairman’s Desk … My Dear Brother Knights, I would like to thank Paul Basileo and his committee for doing a great job on the Charity Drive Kick-Off. Let’s all get behind them and try to make this Charity Drive the best that we have ever had. Many thanks to Bishop McGann Council for hosting. Gene Johann has planned a great golf outing. It should be a very enjoyable day. Don’t forget to sign up for this, you won’t be disappointed.  Our Day of Recollection is being held at Our Lady of Grace, chaired by Bill Murphy. Fr. Stephen Donnelly will be the guest speaker. He is extremely interesting, very spiritual and most entertaining. This day promises to be a memorable one. Sign up ASAP. Please see Joe Tumminello for your 300 Club ticket. The 300 Club is designed to consistently replenish the funds to sustain the FAC program so please purchase a number so that we can get this program off the ground. The tickets are $50.00 each, but if you can’t afford one on your own, chip in with some of your friends. We need to have funds available to assist our brother Knights and sister Columbiettes in financial despair. Last but not least Our Fraternal Weekend is approaching fast. Please make your reservations with Tom Romano. Those who attended last year said that they had a FABULOUS time.  All of the details for the above mentioned functions can be obtained on th e individual flyers listed at the end of the Chapter Bulletin, or by calling the Chairmen listed. Our February Meeting will be on the 12 th  at St. Killian Council in Farmingdale. Hope to see all of you there. Remember, ALL Chapter meetings are on the 2 nd  Friday of each month. Any changes will be prominently posted. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for making our meetings more interesting or entertaining. I will look forward to hearing from you. My Dear Brother Knights,

Suffolk Chapter Columbiettes

Dear Sister Columbiettes:

Brrr..........it is cold outside and I hope everyone is staying warm.

We will host our Birthright Baby Shower at Resurrection of Our Lord Council #11871 in Farmingville at thechapter meeting on Monday, February 15, 2016. Please bring new baby items or monetary donations to this

meeting. Peg from Birthright will be with us at 7:30pm and the meeting will start at 8:00pm.

Our Day of Recollection will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Resurrection of Our Lord, 50 Granny

Road, Farmingville, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Cost is $5.00. Cake and coffee will be available. Bring your own

lunch or we will have menus from the local Chinese and Italian restaurants. Fr. Donnelly will be with us for

Mass and prayer.

The Joint Communion Breakfast with the Knights will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at St. Sylvester’s

Church in Medford with Mass at 9:00am and breakfast to follow in the Parish Center. The cost will be $12.00

per person. A representative from Birthright will be the speaker.

Our next Major Degree will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Patchogue Council, Patchogue. All presidents

will receive letters with all the details.

We are in the planning stages of a Spring fundraiser. We will keep you posted on the details.

The Suffolk Chapter Charity Drive is on its way. There are many ways in which one can support this great

event with donation buckets at your meetings, sponsor cards and journal ads. Award books can also be

purchased. The Charity Ball will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Watermill in Smithtown. Elaine

Addie is the Columbiette Chairlady and is looking forward to making this another successful Charity Drive

with your help.
