I worked with St Basils for a few years, working on their printed material for conferences and learning materials.

Whilst working closely with the sub-organisation, The National Youth Reference Group (NYRG), I brought a ‘style’ to their publications, which has carried on through all their documentation.

During my position as Artistic Director at SMILE, I visualised numerous campaigns both externally and internally.

Designing your own promotional material is a challenge, but a challenge I very much enjoyed.

I was in charge of all print processes and management, as well as designing material, both online and offline.

Skills used: Design, editorial design, bespoke illustration, typography, print management

I was the lead designer and account manager for this project, which spanned over two years.

The university wanted to cut its previous 200 page prospectus and create a “coffee table” piece that people will want to read, and that will drive viewers to the website.

I created a cloth bound, perfect bound, A5 book, with a de-bossed cover.

The book was received with great reviews, and a heavily reducedpostage bill!

I was asked to design some prints to be displayed within a shop that was intended to showcase talent within Birmingham. A sort of heritage shop.

I produced these birmingham inspired prints, including the BT Tower, The Anglepoise lamp, and the Spitfire aircraft.

My prints accounted for a good proportion of sales within the shop.

I designed and built the Minecraft microsite for Shakespeare Birthplace Trust whilst working as part of SMILE. Having worked with the trust on many digital projects,

this site was a really enjoyable project.

The aim was to promote and showcase competition entries in a collaboration between Minecraft and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

DanceXchangeW E B S I T E R E - D E S I G N

After winning a competitive pitch, of which I was the lead designer, we won the re-design of the DanceXchange

website. The thinking behind this was that we wanted to expose their ‘iceberg’, the other 90% that visitors don’t

usually get to see.

So, we designed a site that allows the user to see what they want to see. An infinite horizontal scroll, with video, social

media, news and classes all within one area.

Skills used: Design for digital, pitch writing, project management.
