I have to peel it out of my mouth. Sometimes I even peel off the sides of my tongue. I throw bloody chunks of tissue on the ground. I have it often, but haven’t connected it to any specific event. – Kim 31, Toledo, OH Lauri: Usually, any dream concerning the mouth can be connected to the way you communicate. The way the inside of your mouth grows and chokes you suggests that you get this dream when you are choking back words in real life, when there is something you want to say or need to say but aren’t. The tissue in your mouth grows because the need to say something is growing. Your dream is trying to show you that the longer you hold this in, the more you let the issue grow without speaking up about it, the more of a problem you are causing for yourself. The bloody chunks are a lovely element to this dream, aren’t they? Whenever you see blood in a dream, it is a warning sign that you are allowing something to drain you. In your case, it could be anxiety or worry over what you know you need to speak up about that is draining you. I’m also thinking that your dream is using the imagery of bloody chunks on the ground to represent your fear that if you speak up it will turn into a messy situation. The only way to get these dreams to stop is to say what needs to be said. Kim replies: Over the last several months I’ve been holding back what I would usually say to a loved one. Sometimes I feel like the things they say don’t even deserve a response, but mainly I’m just tired of their overall attitude. It really does drain me! And I do feel if I speak up it will get messy. I can’t believe how much I can relate to this interpretation. Thank you!
