Carbon capture and utilization / storage(CCU/S): capturing and utilising C02 is a key toolfor reducing net future carbon emissions and canequally make a significant contribution to fossildisplacement through downstream processingleading to a large range of products (chemical,fuels, materials… the list goes on), the end goalbeing to achieve a world where all carbon isrenewed** and all carbon resident in thegeosphere (fossil carbon) remains locked where itis..

With a history dating back to 1998, when renewableswere still termed alternative and notions of thebioeconomy were just “apples in the eye” of ahandful of pioneering thinkers, our story begins.

Bio360 Expo today is in fact a grouping of threeevents organised historically by Bees: the Salon BoisEnergie (2005-2020), Biogaz Europe (2010-2020) andRegen Europe (2018-2020). The Salon Bois Energieitself, famed for assembling the wood energy sectorfrom A-Z was created by ITEBE in 1998 and was atthe time the world’s first event for wood energy. Itwas acquired by Bees in 2005 and formed the basisfor an evolving family of events for the bioenergyand bioeconomy sectors that culminates today inBio360 Expo, a cross-disciplinary event that enablesand encourages the development of synergiesbetween the different strands of the bioeconomyand bioenergy sectors.

Based in Lyon, Bees, the organiser of Bio360 Expo, isa small, multicultural and dedicated team of eventprofessionals with a combined experience of over 60years.

"Nailing our colours to the mast": ancientseafarer’s used to nail their colours to the mast inorder to signal what they stood for and what theywould fight to protect.

We do similarly and in our case, the colour is brightgreen!

This translates in our professional lives into adedication to the transformative ambition of Bio360Expo and in our day-to-day existence, we work inoffices that are heated and cooled by biomass andare powered by a mix of renewables. We also getaround largely with bioNGV, electric bicycles andpublic transport. We even sometimes cook with solarheaters or micro-scale biomass gasifiers … not tomention our Ooni wood or biogas fired pizza oven !!… ie, we enjoy walking the talk as much as we can !
