OUR LEARNERS Adult learners

At Broadstairs College, we encourage lifelong learning and can help you progress in your career or take a new direction. Adult learners studying full-time courses receive the same technical and vocational learning opportunities as our young people. As many of our courses are mixed, it allows the sharing of experiences across different backgrounds and mindsets.

Part-time learners

For those over 19, we offer a range of part-time courses to help you gain new skills outside of normal college hours. Our part-time courses focus on professional development and helping you to either return to education, get on further in your studies or learn new, useful skills.

Higher education

Our courses are designed for adults (19+) who are aspiring to study at degree level but do not have the relevant entry requirements. Our higher education courses are equivalent to years 1 and 2 of a degree. This means you can choose to top up to a degree or leave with a Level 4 qualification that is recognised in its own right.

Our College has a rich and diverse student population from across our district. Our vision is to provide a safe and inspiring learning environment for every age and type of learner.

Young people

College aims to help young people to explore their options after GCSEs and can be a stepping stone to employment or further learning. Our responsibility is to prepare our students for the next step on their journey, whatever that may be. By teaching in adult learning environments with real-life opportunities, our students are challenged to reach their goals, achieve their aspirations and succeed.

Attend an interview

Your interview is a chance for you to meet the tutors and ask questions about your chosen course. You can also get advice on student finance and support while you study.

Your offer

After an interview you may be offered a place on the level that is right for you. Your offer may be subject to conditions such as achieving the necessary GCSE grades or providing evidence of previous qualifications. There is no limit to how many applications, interviews or offers you can have. Accepting an offer just reserves you a space on the course until enrolment.
