Malice - Denotes “deep-seated feelings against a person, intense and long-lasting bitterness or ill will; to be vicious, spiteful and to hold a grudge.

Deceit - To catch with bait. Denotes the act of misleading people with a kind of two-faced deception, primarily with words (flattery, false promises, suggestive talk, enticing words, etc.).

Hypocrisy - To pretend or put on a show. It was the word that simply referenced an actor who wore a mask when play acting. A person who is pretending to be something he is not. The hypocrite, then, is the one who conceals what he really is.

Envy - To envy is to covet what someone else has to the point of not wanting the other person to have it. There are a plurality of things over which a person might be envious (money, job, social status, looks, clothes, popularity, possessions, etc.).

Slander – Denotes evil speaking of any kind. It would include gossip, backbiting, insults, grumbling, excessive sarcasm or mockery.

Job said, "I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food" (Job 23:12).

The Psalmist described the blessed man thusly: “but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night” (Psa. 1:2).

I. We Must Remove the Filth.

Jeremiah said, “Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart…” (Jer. 15:16).

2 Thess. 2:9-10 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
