Page 1 of 12 STUDENT SATISFACTION SURVEY (SSS) ANALYSIS REPORT FOR 2019-20 Government Ramnarayan Chellaram College of Commerce and Management was established in the year 1948 in Poorna Prasad Building on Race Course Road as an Intermediate College and later shifted to the present colossal stone heritage building in the year 1952. The College having completed 73 years of existence, located on a campus area of 4 acres. It has reached many milestones through its pioneering journey aiming to be a Premiere Institution of Commerce and Management. With the launch of MBA the college was renamed as Government R.C. College of Commerce and Management in the year 2003. It is re -accredited by NAAC with B Grade and is recognized under 2(f) and 12 (b) of the UGC. It is recognized as the Centre of Excellence by the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka. Through continuous feedbacks and surveys, our college strives to improve its consistency and eminence. SSS is one among them that advantages in keeping our academic excellence up to date. ANALYSIS REPORT FOR 2019-20

Section II - Teaching – Learning and Evaluation

Question 1:

Analysis: The above diagram clearly shows 48% of the students feel that more than 70% of the portions was completed. Only 6% felt that below 30% of the portions was completed.

Question 2:

Analysis: 60% of the students felt that teachers prepared for the classes very thoroughly and satisfactorily and only 4.8% felt that teachers won’t teach at all.

Question 3:

Analysis: 59% of the students felt that the teachers were able to communicate effectively and 5.5% felt that teacher’s communication was very poor. Question 4:

Analysis: 52% of the students felt that teacher’s approach to teaching is very good and excellent. 5.5% felt that approach is very poor.

Question 5:

Analysis: 63% of the students felt that internal evaluation process is always and usually fair. 6.7% felt that this process is unfair. Question 6:

Analysis: 56% of the students felt that performance in assignments were discussed with

them usually and every time. 9% of them felt it was never discussed at all.

Question 7:

Analysis: 51% of the students feel that the institute takes active interest in promoting internship, student exchange, field visit regularly and 13% feel that institute never takes interest.

Question 8:

Analysis: 53% of the students feel that the teaching and mentoring process in institution facilitates them in cognitive, social and emotional growth significantly very well. 8% feel that institute does facilitate this development.

Question 9:

Analysis: 62% of the students agree and 6% of them strongly disagree that the institution provides multiple opportunities to learn and grow.

Question 10:

Analysis: 57% of the students feel that teachers inform them about their expected competencies, course outcomes and program outcomes usually and every time and 9% feel that they are never informed.

Question 11:

Analysis: 54% of the students usually feel and 8% rarely feel that their mentor does a necessary follow-up with an assigned task to you. Question 12:

Analysis: 55% usually and every time feel and 7% never feels that teachers illustrate the concepts through examples and applications.

Question 13:

Analysis: 51% of the students reasonably and fully feel and 12% feel that teachers identify your strengths and encourage them with providing right level of challenges. Question 14:

Analysis: 52% of the students usually and every time but 14% feel that never teachers are able to identify their weaknesses and help them to overcome them.

Question 15:

Analysis: 57% of the students strongly agree and 7% of them strongly disagree that institution makes effort to engage students in the monitoring, review and continuous quality improvement of the teaching learning process. Question 16:

Analysis: 56% of the students feel that the institute/teachers use student centric methods and 7% feel that they never use student centric methods for enhancing learning experiences.

Question 17:

Analysis: 66% agree and 7% strongly disagree that teachers encourage them to participate in extracurricular activities. Question 18:

Analysis: 61% of the students feel moderately and to great extent and 8% feel very little that efforts are made by the institute/teachers to inculcate soft skills, life skills and employability skills to make you ready for the world of work.

Question 19:

Analysis: 43% of students feel more than 90% of teachers use ICT tools and 22% feel that only 30% and below use ICT tools. Question 20:

Analysis: 66% of the students agree and 4% strongly disagree that the quality of teaching learning process in the institute is very good.

The following were few of the observations/suggestions given by the students to improve the overall teaching-learning experience in the institution: They are of the opinion that teacher’s knowledge about the subject is good and they teach them very well. They also expressed that they are to be prepared for the future and not for exams and want to teach in interesting and entertaining way so that it becomes easy for them to remember till exams. They also want teachers to focus on teaching to middle bench and last bench students and not to focus only on first bench students. Students also expressed their happiness that college arranged for online classes and all classes were conducted in a very organized manner especially during Covid times.
