The Search for
Ridiculous
Letter RBy Ms. Myers’ Class
Ms. Myers’ kindergarten class
could not find the letter R. They
needed it for 6+1 writing. It was not
in the classroom, it was not in the
school, so to find it, they needed to
hit the road.
Ms. Myers’ class drove far and
wide to find the Letter R. They came
across an animal. The animal
handed them a note and said it
was from Letter R. Thank you, rat!
The note said, “Find a snack
that starts with /r/. The next clue is
hidden with grapes that shriveled in
the sun.” “Raisins!” said Ms. Myers’
class.
When they got to the
raisins, someone had already
munched them up. An animal with
big ears and a little tail handed
them a note. Thank you, rabbit!
The rabbit asked, “Before you
leave, can you clear the leaves
away from my home?” Ms. Myers’
class helped, and they used a rake.
The note told Ms. Myers’ class to
look for Letter R downstream, so
they hopped aboard a boat and
rode down the river.
The next note they found said
“Look for me in a flower bed. My
favorite color is red.”
Ms. Myers’ class looked around.
They saw blue flowers, pink
flowers, orange flowers, and red
flowers. They walked to the red
flowers to look for a note. One red
flower was a rose.
All of the sudden, they
saw Letter R in the
distance, but they had to be
fast if they wanted to catch
him. They had to run.
To catch Letter R, they
made a lasso out of rope.
They finally found it!
Just then, it started to rain.
Letter R slipped out of the
lasso and ran away.
As it ran, it threw them a
gift so that they would
remember to use Letter R in
6+1 writing. It was a ring.
