Student Activity Be the Light of Christ

At the Easter Vigil, the Saturday before Easter Sunday, as a church we light the Paschal candle. To remind us that Christ is the light of the world and that each of us through our Baptism are called to be the light of Christ to others.

Jesus helped people, he made those who were sick feel better, he made friends with those that were mistreated. We too can help others, be there for them when they feel sad or upset.

Color the candle and think of one way you can be the light of Christ to others. Ask your parents or older siblings to help you write how you will be the light of Christ.

Your whole family can also color a candle and say how they will be the light of Christ at home.

En la Vigilia Pascual, el sábado anterior al Domingo de Pascua, como iglesia encendemos la vela pascual. Para recordarnos que Cristo es la luz del mundo y que cada uno de nosotros a través de nuestro Bautismo está llamado a ser la luz de Cristo para los demás. Jesús ayudó a las personas, hizo que los enfermos se sintieran mejor, se hizo amigo de los maltratados. Nosotros también podemos ayudar a otros, estar allí para ellos cuando se sientan tristes o molestos. Colorea la vela y piensa en una forma en que puedes ser la luz de Cristo para los demás. Pide a tus padres o hermanos mayores que te ayuden a escribir cómo serás la luz de Cristo. Toda su familia también puede colorear una vela y decir cómo serán la luz de Cristo en casa.
