Follow the cycle path to Bellshill. From here regular trains to Glasgow and are a great way to get in and see the city.
The walk around the lake in the country park is beautiful, ideal if you have a dog.
Visit M&D’s theme park, it has a huge range of rides, attractions, restaurants, indoor and outdoor activities.
Within an hour to the east you can see The Kelpies sculpures in Falkirk, also visit the Falkirk Wheel while you’re in the area to make an excellent day out.

For a new route when cycling round the lake - turn off and go up to the house at Chatelherault.
Try a deep fried Mars bar in Glasgow!
The mountain bike trails at Cathkin Brae are a must, you are able to cycle the majority of the European Championship Course.
For archaeology buffs there is even a Roman Bath-house to visit in the park.
A visit to the Ayrshire coast is good for day trip.
