A student who cons istent ly hands in work late may receive lower grades, even though the work is o f h igh qual i ty.
#8 Fear of Fa i lure. Ensure that your fa i lure is based on forces other than your own competence, so that your abi l i t ies cannot be quest ioned. EXAMPLE:
A student who never hands in h is math homework because he's af ra id he wi l l do i t wrong. (The fa i lure then becomes based on the miss ing ass ignments , not the student 's competence.)
#9 You may put off tasks hoping they wi l l magical ly become eas ier or more interest ing. The fact is , few th ings become c learer the more you avoid them, and often you've squandered your opportunit ies and t ime for gett ing ass is tance.
