Strategies that utilize positive interventions and reinforcement to achieve positive behavior change in individuals and in the school as a whole.
What is the main goal of PBS:
• To create and sustain a school environment that improves lifestyle results (personal , health, social, academic, work, etc.) for all students by making problem behavior less effective, efficient and relevant, while making desired behavior more functional.
Who is the Positive Behavior
Support Team?• The Principal
• The Guidance Counselor
• A teacher representative from each grade level (elementary, middle, high school)
• A behavior analyst
• An instructional assistant representative
• A District Coach
What are the tasks of the
PBS Team:• Establish and maintain consistent staff commitment to
utilizing positive behavioral interventions
• Continuously assess behavioral management practices at the school to assure effectiveness
• Examine patterns of behavior (ex: time of day, locations) for effective behavioral interventions
• Develop and implement a school-wide reward system
• Establish and maintain parental involvement and support
• Oversee, monitor and evaluate all the planned objectives and activities that are developed by the team

Be Respectful: Work quietly and be kind in words and actions

Be Respectful: Speak kindly to others
Be Responsible: Stay on task and listen and follow instructions
