Two steps:

• Analyzing the existing system- determining the activities that are currently

Four basic elements:• Data flow

–Set of data being transmitted between the objects on DFD.

-Flow used to describe movement of information from one of the system to another.

-flow represents data in motion while the stores indicate data at rest.

- An arrow into or out of a process shows flow graphically.
