Reading is the single best thing you can do for your brain and for your future. What were you like at school? I was a terrible student. I rarely did homework and never read the assigned books. Ironically, I later became a Bunny, and I knew all my students’ tricks for trying to get out of work, because I had used them myself! Where did you get your inspiration for the Percy Jackson series? My son Haley asked me to tell him some bedtime stories about the gods and heroes. Myth Master important series that got me into reading.

Reading is the single best thing you can do for your brain and for your future.

What were you like at school?I was a terrible student. I rarely did homework and never read the assigned books. Ironically, I later became a Bunny, and I knew all my students’ tricks for trying to get out of work, because I had used them myself!

Finally, if you were a cartoon character, which would you be and why?Bugs Bunny. No contest. I wish I could handle life with as much panache and confidence as that ‘wascally wabbit’.

Where did you get your inspiration for the Percy Jackson series?My son Haley asked me to tell him some bedtime stories about the gods and heroes. When I ran out of myths, he was disappointed and asked me if I could make up something new with the same characters. Off the top of my head, I made up Percy Jackson and told Haley all about his quest to recover Zeus’ lightning bolt in modern day America…

Jeff Kinney has written a brand-new Diary of a Wimpy Kid story for World Book Day.

Now it’s time for readers to hear from Greg’s trusty best friend, Rowley Jefferson, in a journal all of his own. This is a new window into the Wimpy World, and one readers won’t want to miss!
