Story Identification:Sam DuarteCOM 20524 January 2014The StoryIn order to understand how we have arrived to the present, we must explore the past. The 1950s were a major turning point in American society. It is a highly romanticized period in which popular culture emerged as the prominent concern.

History was being made. The Cold War was prominent, but no one wanted to focus on the negative. The goal was the ideal good life, full of leisure time. At this point in time it was all about the younger generation. Everything was new and changing. Fashion was about making a statement and rebelling, while continuing to influence future generations and their appearance. Music was transformed, paving the way for legends. Television was on the rise and building a foundation for what would turn into a media obsession. Everything known to us now has some sort of roots then.

After understanding the 50s youll be surprised to find how relevant it has remained throughout time all the way up until 2014.Photographs
