Parking Option ChartTransportation & ParkingServices Mission StatementWe are dedicated to satisfying our customers with efficient and convenient transportation and parking services in support of the diverse missions of our University.

Parking on CampusAll vehicles utilized at Stony Brook University must beoperated within the guidelines specified by the StonyBrook University (SBU) Parking Rules and Regulations.Parking permits are color coded and correspond tosigns posted at each parking lot. Parking permits arerequired for all color coded parking areas, parkinggarages and visitor parking areas. Vehicles utilized atStony Brook University are only permitted to park in alegal parking space, which is defined by two parallellines painted on asphalt. Please refer to the map insidefor more information on parking lot locations and colordesignations.

Parking PermitsSBU parking permits and additional information on SBUParking Rules and Regulations can be obtained by visit-ing: stonybrook.edu/parking. Parking permits may alsobe obtained during the academic class registrationprocess through the SOLAR System. SBU parking per-mits may not be transferred to another person.

u Commuter Students (Brown or Green) have thefollowing parking options:

Commuter (Green): Commuter students are eligiblefor a green commuter parking permit, which allowsfor parking in either North or South P Lots, or in thegreen commuter section of the Gym Road ParkingLot. SBU Transit provides connecting transportationfrom all green commuter parking lots all areas of theStony Brook campus.

Premium Commuter (Brown): Commuter studentsmay also choose to purchase a brown commuter park-ing permit, which allows for parking in the browncommuter section of the Stadium Lot. Visitstonybrook.edu/parking for further information. The

SB Alert is a communicationsystem used by Universityofficials to provide warnings and emergency information

using text, voice, and e-mail messages. Sign up today for this important service in SOLAR—just click on theSB Alert icon.
