ADVANCED LEARNER LOANIf you’re aged 19 or over and starting a course at Level 3 to 6 this year, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help cover the cost of your course fees. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. Plus you won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year.The amount you can get depends on your course, the fees charged and maximum amounts set by the government. The minimum loan amount is £300. Choosing to study Access to Health has opened a future new career to Maryam. The mum-of-two has secured a place to study Diagnostic Radiography at Teesside University. “It has been hard work but I have enjoyed it,” said the 36-year-old from Stockton. “I didn’t build my hopes up about getting into university, so I was screaming when I got my place.” Now looking forward to what’s ahead, she said: “I can’t wait to get started.”
