Night Walk Ministry will be serving meals to House of Charity (HOC) residents inside the facility. At times the meals will consist of sandwiches and other times we will prepare hot food. If interested please contact Dea-con Chalo at 263-9553 or by email: [email protected].

The Charity and Justice Committee has a Donation Barrel set up in the lobby for Catholic Charities. Each month, the re-quested donation items will be updated to reflect the most pressing need. At the end of each month, the barrel will be emptied and delivered to Catholic Charities. Donations for November will go to Pope Francis Haven. Located at 16412 E. Sprague in Spokane Valley, Pope Francis is the latest addition to Catholic Charities goal of eliminating homelessness in Spokane. Requested items: Kitchen items: pots/pans, dishes, glasses, cups, silverware, & food storage containers; laundry and automatic dishwashing deter-gent; paper towels; toilet paper; Kleenex; full & twin size bedding, & new pillows. They also need someone to volunteer teaching a basic sew-ing class for hemming, buttons and simple projects that don’t require a sewing machine. Our world is in the midst of the greatest refugee crisis in history. Two evenings here at St. Joseph Church will pro-vide education and stories about refugees. The Spokane office of WORLD RELIEF will show the movie “Shalom Neighbor” on Wednesday evening, November 29th and then the organization will share local stories of refugees with time for discussion on Wednesday evening, December 6th. Both evenings will be from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. in the Par ish Hall. Consider these presentations as a fitting ADVENT REFLECTION as Pope Francis reminds us that: “The painful experience of these refugee brothers and sis-ters recalls that of baby Jesus, who at the time of his birth could not find a place to stay when he was born, and Jesus, Mary and Joseph who were forced by Herod to take flight and seek refuge in Egypt” (Mt. 2:13-14). WORLD RELIEF par tners with the U.S. Department of State to resettle refugees. Sponsored by St. Joseph Charity and Justice Committee.
