Position Overview

Energy Resources and Environment

The Energy, Resources and Environment Branch (ERE) sits within the Economic Policy and State Productivity Group of the Department and is responsible for advising the Premier on energy, earth resources, environment, climate change, agriculture and water matters. The Branch provides policy, leadership, oversight and advice on the development and delivery of major reforms.

The branch works across Government on the development of policy, in particular shadowing the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and the Agriculture and Resources portfolios of the Department of Economic Development, Job, Transport and Resources.

Duties will include:

Preparation and review of complex research and analysis of current and potential government policy – may involve presenting findings to the branch.

Under direction, examine and prepare reports and briefing papers on routine matters and complex policy issues for the Premier, Secretary and senior officers.

Under direction, prepare branch correspondence including undertaking investigatory and analytical work and preparing correspondence on sensitive issues for the signature of the Premier, Secretary and senior officers.

Provide support to policy advisers in the preparation of advice, as required.
