importance than just learning for passing the class and there is no substitute for hard work where each student is the “limit” and needs to set levels of progress in life. He also addressed the parents asking them to be role models and a constant support for their children.
St. Stephen's Sr. Sec. School was privileged to have Shri Ripudaman Singh, the First Dronacharya
ndAwardee, as the Chief Guest for the 32 Annual Sports Day 2016.In an interview conducted by Student Editors Anushree Joshi (XI-Sc.) and Sean Leo Noronha (X-B), he mentioned that in India, the best thing about sports is that it nurtures the growth of individuality in its sportsmen. But currently, team effort lacks motivation and spirit of the game is lost in today's scenario. When asked who his role model was, he simply stated that his role models were his teachers, like his guru Bhagwan Singh at Government College, Ajmer. He believed that each and every sportsman should play for the nation and not for any personal desire, for that desire diverts his or her focus while playing. When asked how he motivates physically handicapped athletes, he replied that he has lived his life as a coach with a strong belief that good coaching provides much required encouragement for the athletes who are differently abled. The thought behind this great sportsman and coach's initiative to build a haven of opportunities for the physically challenged is to present such individuals with the chance to excel in the field of sports.Shri Singh, is a man who pursued core academic subjects for a long time and entered the field of sports with the sole purpose of beating this perception that good athletes lag behind in academics. His message to all parents was to let their children pursue their dream in the field of sport.

WORD ORIGINCIRCUS: merely a circleWhen you speak of a three-ring circus you are repeating yourself because the original Greek word kirkos meant a “ring” or “circle”. This entered Latin as circus and gave us the word for our great tent exhibition.PIANO: soft to loudThis term is a shortened form of pianoforte. When Christofori invented the piano in 1711, he thought its characteristic feature was that it could be played soft and loud. Piano e forte (Italian “soft and loud”) was the way he described the instrument. The term piano was kept.
