• Querer (e-ie)• Empezar (e-ie)• Jugar (u-ue)• Pedir (e-i)• Encontrar (o-ue)• Etc…

When do you preterite stem change? When do you preterite stem change?

Stem changing in the preterite is EASY!!!! Follow these three simple rules:

1. You stem change only “IR” verbs.2. You only stem change the “ella” and “ellas”

forms.3. The verb will only change from “E-I” or “O-U”.4. You conjugate the other forms like normal.
