TAMENGLONG DISTRICT MANIPUR
2016
DISTRICT STATISTICAL OFFICE
TAMENGLONG
DIRECTORATE OF ECONOMICS & STATISTICS
GOVERNMENT OF MANIPUR
P R E F A C E
The present issue of ‘Statistical Year Book of Tamenglong District, Manipur, 2016’ is
the first publication of Tamenglong District which depicts the latest available numerical information
pertaining to various socio-economic aspects of Tamenglong District. Most of the data presented in
this issue at Sub-division level are collected and compiled by the District Statistical Office,
Tamenglong from various District level offices of the Government/Local bodies. The sources of data
are indicated at the end of each statistical table.
The generous co-operation extended by the different Departments/ Offices/Statutory bodies in
furnishing the required data is acknowledged with thanks. The sincere efforts put in Shri RK
Kakangam, District Statistical Officer, Tamenglong and staff of the District Statistical Office,
Tamenglong District in the preparation of the current issue, inspite of various limitations, is highly
commendable. The contribution of the State Headquarter in editing/printing/binding/cover design of
the publication is also highly appreciated.
The present issue being the first and the limited time available for standardization of
presentation of the data, the need for further improvement is an accepted fact. And as attempt is
focussed on presenting data at disaggregated level as far as possible, the need to ensure district level
data obtained from the respective State Headquarter Office tally with the district total presented in the
report brought out by the District Statistical Office. Therefore, suggestions for improvement in the
quality, coverage and presentations in its future of the publication are most welcome.
