FROM THE EAST Worshipful Sirs and Brethren,First I wanna give thanks to all the Members who attended our First Stated Meeting this Year. It’s well attended and very successful. We have announced our Lodge Budget and Lodge Committees. Our goals for this year of 2018, though we have few corrections which has been annonated and will bring it up on our next Stated Meeting which will be on February 1st, Thursday, also an Official visit of the 935th Masonic District Inspector PM Romulo Devera.
All Officers must be in Tuxedo. I had to make some few adjustment as far as how to present myself as Master and I am so glad and thankful to all the Past Masters who have given me some advice and good suggestions. During our Stated Meeting we recognized Brother Ernie Adapon who donated $1000-dollars towards our projects. I also like to recognize Brother Rey Cruz, myself and Worshipful Bing General who also donated the total of $400-dollars towards our upcoming projects. A good example from the brethren providing financial help to our Lodge as we know we are a non-profit Organization and we only depend in our Membership. Thanks again on your Continuing Support.
I also like to congrats our Jobs Daughters New Honor Queen Caitlyn Trillana and the Senior and Junior Princess of Bethel # 164 I also congratulate to the proud Mom And Dad who stood behind them in supporting you reaching her goals.
As Master I will do my best to make sure that we will support them 100% in their Activities and Fund Raising Events, wish you all the best this year, Well done and well accomplished in your Installation.
This month we will be holding Valentines Party & Masonic Widow's Luncheon set on February 16th Friday 6:00pm We will have sound systems/DJ and flowers presentation to all the sweetheart Ladies I encourage everyone to attend and support this event, The members of the Widow's Committee will hold a meeting prior to the date and hopefully we can contact the Widow's to come to present them the Flowers and to let them know how we can provide and support our Widows.
In a positive note I Will take this opportunity to remind the Brethren of etiquette that is sometimes forgotten in Lodge. All speaking in open Lodge is to be directed to the Worshipful Master. No side conversation in open Lodge unless specifically granted permission by the Worshipful Master or the Lodge is declared "Free from restraint"by the Worshipful Master.
Lastly there is no more Installation around San Diego Area and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the new sitting Master of their respective Lodge. Best Wishes to them and for me I will try my best to work with them and to join them to the fullest of understanding with the utmost of integrity and humility, A success must be earned and not bestowed.
Fraternally, Raymund M. Madriaga, Worshipful Master

From the West
My Brothers and Sisters in Masonry, I have been so touched by all the well-wishes I have received over the past few months. Whether we’ve seen eye to eye or rarely agreed at all, my dealings and conversation with you, my Brothers and Sisters in
Masonry – in the dining hall, inside a tiled Lodge, in other Lodges, and on distant outposts – are what have kept me honest, kept me inspired and kept me going. Every day, I learned from you. You made me a better Master Mason, and you made me a better man. Thank you. When I was raised to Master Mason 19 years ago, I have no idea what I was joining into. It was then when I began attending, on a regular basis, at the Lodge and I was first appointed to Junior Stewart, it was then when my travel started thru a rough and rugged road to convince the Brethren of my fidelity in keeping inviolate that which has already been entrusted to my care. This is where I learned that good deed only happen when ordinary Master Masons get involved, get engaged, and come together to work with peace and harmony. They truly became "friends and brothers, among whom no contention should ever exist, except that noble contention, or rather emulation, of best can work and best agree." From Jan. 1st, 2017 and to this date, SWL No. 283
had initiated 15 Entered Apprentices; passed 15
Fellowcrafts; raised 14 Master Masons and have voted 4
Master Masons for affiliation. This is the great gift the
Officers and Members of SWL No. 283 gave to the
Fraternity and to the Freemasonry in general. Thank you.
That’s why I leave this stage even more optimistic
about this Lodge than I was when we started. Because I
know the incoming Officers who will be under the
stewardship of Worshipful Master Raymund Madriaga will
continue and will ensure that Freemasonry will go on, and
on, and on to time.
My Brothers and Sister in Masonry, it has
been the honor of my life to serve the Fraternity as
your Master. I am not stopping, in fact, I was elected
to serve as Senior Warden for the ensuing masonic
year and will be right there with you, as a Master
Mason, for the duration of my life that remain. For
now, I do have one final request of you as your
brother – the same thing I requested when you took
a chance on me a year ago, as a Master. Thank you.
Fraternally,
Percival E. Tiu, PM, Senior Warden
From the South
Hail brethren! The January stated meeting
was well attended. Worshipful Brother Tiu
commented that the lodge was well
attended by so many Past Masters,
Brethren, and their families. It was really
nice to see some new, familiar, and old
faces visiting the lodge, a warm welcome
to the newly elected officers of this lodge.
The dinner was served on time and was deliciously prepared by
the kitchen crew volunteers comprised of our prospects and
brethren led by our own “Master Chef” Worshipful Brother Ed
Yaptangco. I can’t thank him enough and the numerous brothers
who volunteered and labored in the kitchen preparing our
sumptuous dinner. Again, thank you Worshipful Sir!
We are also preparing for the official visit of Worshipful Brother
Romulo Devera, District Inspector for the 935th Masonic District
on our stated meeting 1 February.
We now must look ahead and prepare for the month of lovers.
Please save the date and mark your calendars on Friday, 16
February for our Valentines Party and Widow’s luncheon, a
perfect time to bring our ladies, sweethearts, and enjoy the
company of our loved ones. This will be our first POTLUCK
event for this year.
The following are the suggested assignment of food and
refreshment based on the initial of your last name:
Initial of Last Name Dish to Bring
