STATE EDUCATION FEES
At State High, we offer an excellent educational environment and provide many opportunities to all students. State schools do not charge instruction, facilities and administration costs, however, subject fees and levies are essential to support the delivery of education. Textbooks also incur an expense, however a state government allowance offsets some of this cost. The P&C Association reviews and approves the subject fees each year. Information on the values of subject fees are found on the school’s website https://brisbaneshs.eq.edu.au/ourschool/Aboutstatehigh/Pages/State-education-fees.aspx.
At State High, these fees and levies include: Subject fees - subject fees cover the cost of excursions and activities associated with the subject General levy - The general levy includes:

Extra-curricular activities – invitations are extended to students to participate in performing andvisual art, chess, debating and sporting activities. Students participating in extra-curricular activitiesmust pay additional costs. Dependent on the activities that students choose to participate in costs mayinclude:

When you enrol, you are asked to sign a form indicating that you understand the school applies fees for the subjects taken.

This guide is a resource to show parents where subject fees are spent by the Heads of Department. Subject fees will cover provision of, and access to, the resources listed below. Subject fees must be paid or alternatively, resources must be provided by the students. Schools purchase in bulk so can negotiate very competitive prices.

JUNIORS
High Resolves is a not for profit, non-religious education initiative that has worked with more than 80,000 students across Australia over the past 10 years. High Resolves Programs effectively engage and help to empower young Australians to take part and be active in their community. This program has been at State High for a number of years and helps provide students with the motivation, skills and confidence they need to begin to tackle the many complex challenges they face as citizens and leaders.
This is one of the many important programs at our school that assists in the development of the social wellbeing of our students.
