Where We Have Been with MAP January, 2011 – one pilot classroom per building. May, 2011 – two pilot classrooms per building. 2011-2012 – Full implementation Grades 3-6.
Assessments administered in September, January, and May.
RIT scores Lexile reports Teachers using this data/information to differentiate and
guide instruction. Beginning to use RIT scores with DesCartes –aligned to PA
State Standards.
What is DesCartes DesCartes translates test scores (RIT) into skills and concepts
students may be ready to learn. It orders specific skills and concepts by achievement level (RIT bands).
We will be moving to DesCartes aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
Where We Can Go With a full year of assessments our opportunities grow. Dynamic Reporting Suite will allow for analysis of both
Growth and Proficiency by school, grade, class, and student.
Next Steps Further awareness and training for instructional leaders will
occur this summer. Teachers will receive further awareness and training in the
fall. Use the reports to identify students and groups of students
for remediation and enrichment by drilling down to specific areas of strength and need.
Working with computer services to enable a parent portal of a MAP assessment report for parents following each testing window.
Enhancing the district website with information for teachers, parents, and community about MAP.
