CERTIFICATION OF SEALED INSULATING UNITS The Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC®), a nonprofit organization, sponsors and directs a program of periodic accelerated laboratory testing and unannounced plant inspections to insure continuing product performance through a specific standard. The standard utilized in the IGCC® program for authorizing certification is the ASTM E-2190-02 “Standard Specification for Insulating Glass Unit Performance and Evaluation”. Unit performance test specimens qualify by either passing or failing the standard. AGC meets the requirements of the IGCC® certification program and is authorized to label insulating glass units with the IGCC certification mark. Our current certification numbers can be found in the most recent edition of the IGCC® Products Directory. AGC Flat Glass North America is also a member of the Insulated Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) and adheres to their published guideline, “TB-1200-83 SIGMA Voluntary Guidelines for Commercial Insulating Glass Dimensional Tolerances”. 1. Limited Express Warranties: AGC Flat Glass North America, Inc. (hereafter “AGC”), warrants its products, to its original purchaser only, subject to the following conditions and restrictions for the time set forth for each product:

(a) Tempered Glass: AGC warrants for a period of (1) year from the date of substantial completion that its tempered glass will meet, at the time of the sale, specifications as defined by ASTM Standard Specification for Heat Treated Glass C 1048-04, Kind HS, Kind FT Coated and Uncoated Glass, and ANSI Z97.1-2004, CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Category II. CAUTION: AGC tempered glass must not be modified or receive any fabrication such as grinding, drilling, sand blasting, etc., subsequent to tempering. Such modification or additional fabrication may seriously weaken the glass or impair its tempered characteristics and also voids any AGC warranty provisions. “It is recommended that tempered glass not be exposed to temperatures at or in excess of 400°F for any sustained period of time. Such exposure can result in glass breakage.” (b) Insulating Glass Units: AGC warrants its AGC Insulating Glass Units against material obstruction to vision due to defects in material or workmanship which results in film formation or dust collection on the internal glass surfaces caused exclusively from the failure of the hermetic seal, other than through glass breakage, for a period of five (5) years for AGC Single Seal (“AGC S”) units or ten (10) years for AGC Dual (“AGC DS”) and AGC Dual Seal Equivalent (“AGC DSE”) units from the date of substantial completion. This warranty shall be void under any of the following circumstances: (i) the unit is not continuously and adequately mechanically supported on all sides; (ii) the unit seal is not fully protected by a minimum fifteen thirty-seconds (15/32) inch face covering or “bite”; (iii) the perimeter glazing materials are not compatible with organic hermetic seal; (iv) the glazing cavity is not effectively weeped to prevent water accumulation; (v) the unit has been abused or has not been stored and/or installed in a good and workmanlike manner; (vi) the unit is installed in high-moisture environment (including, but not limited to, swimming pool enclosures, saunas, Jacuzzi, hot tubs or greenhouses) or in a vehicle, a skylight or sloped glazing; (vii) the unit has been retrofitted with a solar control film adhered to any glass surface; or (viii) the unit is installed outside of the Continental limits of the United States or Canada. (c) AGC Coated Glass AGC warrants that its Comfort E2 coating will not crack, peel or deteriorate under normal environmental glazed conditions for a period of five (5) years

from the date of substantial completion for Comfort E and ten (10) years for Comfort E2. This warranty shall be void if the glass is damaged by breakage, improper handling or installation, and cleaning with or exposure to abrasive cleaners, sharp objects, wire brushes, steel wool, acids or other caustic material of any type. Please refer to other AGC warranties for other AGC Coated Glass products (for example, AGC Comfort Ti and TCO Coated Glass, etc.) (d) Other Flat Glass Products AGC warrants for a period of one (1) year from the date of substantial completion that all of its flat glass products, other than products with their own individual warranties (preceding paragraphs (a), (b), (c), will meet, at the time of sale, specifications as defined by ASTM Standard Specification for Flat Glass C-1036-01.

2. Limit on Remedies in the Event of Failure: In the event that any AGC product fails to perform as warranted, AGC’s sole responsibility and Purchaser’s Sole and Exclusive Remedy under any warranty, contract, negligence, or other claim of liability shall be limited to a refund of AGC’s original selling price or, AGC’s option, to furnish the purchaser with another product without charge, F.O.B. the shipping point nearest the product’s installation. In no event shall AGC be liable for costs incurred in the removal of failed products, the installation of replacement products, OR FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. In the event that a product is replaced pursuant to any applicable AGC warranty, the replacement product is warranted only for the remainder of the warranty period applicable to the original product. AGC neither guarantees nor warrants production lead-times, shipment delivery dates or inventory availability.

3. DISCLAIMER ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR ALL AGC PRODUCTS: AGC MAKES NO OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND REGARDING THE PRODUCTS, WHETHER AS TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE, OR ANY OTHER MATTER. In particular, AGC assumes no responsibility for glass breakage, improper usage, failure of products on account of faulty installation or building construction or design, improper handling, customer processing or fabrication (including application of coatings, films, etc.) or failure to follow AGC’s instructions regarding the products. No distributor, AGC representative, agent or employee has the authority to alter or change any AGC product warranty, either orally or in writing.

4. Suitability of Products: Purchaser shall be solely responsible for determining suitability for use of products from AGC. REPRESENTATIONS BY EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS OF AGC (OTHER THAN WARRANTIES AS DEFINED HEREIN) CONCERNING SUITABILITY OF AGC PRODUCTS ARE NOTAUTHORIZED BY AGC AND MAY NOT BE RELIED UPON BY THE PURCHASER. CERTIFICATION OF FULLY TEMPERED GLASS Tempered Glass manufactured by AGC Flat Glass North America (AGC Glass) complies with ASTM C1048-04, “Standard Specification for Heat-Treated Float Glass – Kind HS, Kind FT Coated and Uncoated Glass”. When installed in accordance with the "Specific Guidelines for Glazing" in the current addition of the Glass Associations of North America's (GANA) Glazing Manual, it will comply with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Standard 16 CFR 1201, “Safety Standard for Architectural Glazing Materials” for Category II and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z97.1. WASHING INSTALLED GLASS Washing of installed glass requires a proper cleaning solution applied with a clean, grit-free soft cloth. The cleaning solution may be a mild soap or detergent, or a slightly acidic solution designed specifically for glass, and not harmful to the framing, sealants, or glazing beads. Heated cleaning solutions and rinses will promote loosening of dirt and accelerate drying. Completely rinse and dry the glass after washing. Do not use metal or hard material scrapers, steel wool, or abrasives, as they can easily mar the glass. Worn, damaged, or gritty squeegees will scratch the glass. Particular care must be taken with squeegees at exposed unframed glass edges to prevent contact of the squeegee's frame into the glass edge, as the squeegee rides off or onto the glass.

This cold-applied, non-sagging siliconematerial cures to a medium-modulussilicone rubber upon exposure to atmos-pheric moisture. The cured sealant isdurable and flexible enough to accom-modate ±50 percent movement oforiginal joint dimension when installed

PreparationClean all joints, removing all foreignmatter and contaminants such as grease,oil, dust, water, frost, surface dirt, oldsealants or glazing compounds andprotective coatings.

Application MethodInstall backing material or joint filler,setting blocks, spacer shims and tapes.Mask areas adjacent to joints to ensureneat sealant lines. Primer is generally notrequired on non-porous surfaces, butmay be necessary for optimal sealing ofcertain porous surfaces. A test placementis always recommended. ApplyDow Corning 795 Silicone BuildingSealant in a continuous operation usingpositive pressure. (The sealant can beapplied using many types of air-operatedguns and most types of bulk dispensingequipment.) Before a skin forms(typically within 15 minutes), tool thesealant with light pressure to spread thesealant against the backing material and

joint surfaces. Remove masking tape assoon as the bead is tooled.

• To surfaces in direct contact withfood or other food-grade applications

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW

A flammable hydrocarbon gas is used as a blowing agent in Polyethylene and Polyolefin Foam. Residual amounts of this flammable gas may remain in the product at the time of shipment and can accumulate at hazardous concentrations above the Lower Flammable Limit (LFL) if this product is stored in confined or closed areas. Adequate ventilation of the product is required to prevent the accumulation of hazardous concentrations of flammable vapors or dust. Grinding, sawing, cutting, and other fabrication or reprocessing activities may release residual flammable vapors that could ignite or form combustible atmospheres. Smoking, open flames and high temperatures could ignite flammable vapors and thus should not be allow in foam shipping, storage, fabrication or reprocessing areas. Joint Preparation and Installation Just prior to placing the backer rod, clean all joints per the sealant manufacturer’s recommendations. Thoroughly remove any concrete form-release agents, curing compound residue, laitance, or any foreign materials. To ensure a good sealant bond, joints must be clean and dry when the new sealant is installed. Air compressors used for this purpose must be equipped with traps for removal of oil and moisture. Install the backer rod at the depth recommended by the sealant manufacturer with a blunt tool.

Size Selection - Proper size selection is important as it controls the depth of the sealant bead. It must be oversized (25-50%) to fit tightly into the joint and function as a bond-breaker to prevent back-side adhesion of the sealant.

Compatibility - Bi-cellular polyolefin foam is basically an inert material; and therefore, it is compatible, both physically and chemically, with virtually all known cold applied sealants, including self-leveling types.

Precautions - Do not puncture, over compress or stretch backer rod during insertion. Do not use with hot applied sealants. Tests for outgassing of cold applied sealants shall be made in accordance with ASTM Test Method C 1253. Sealant compatibility should be confirmed by the sealant manufacturer. Compatibility characteristics of sealants in contact with sealant backings can be determined by ASTM Test Method C 1087.
