With my wife away on a ladies retreat, I had the opportunity to spend some time withmy sons. Wanting to spend time with them one on one, I decided to teach my oldest(turning 5 tomorrow) the fun in miniature wargaming. I made a scenario from Star WarsClone Wars with him.

There was an Umbaran Mobile Heavy Cannon that the Jedi needed to take out. Abounty hunter was also working with the Umbarans. We had stuff all over the floor to actas cover and terrain. We would take turns, Jedi team first. He would roll 1 six-sided die(a d6 is what we call them in gaming), to see how far they could move. Each numberrepresented how many of the red bricks they can move that turn. (See picture below)

After moving, the troopers could shoot at the guards, if they had a line of sight. On a rollhigher than a 3 (called 4+ in gaming), they would hit them. The Cannon was shielded,so only the Jedi can take it out if they can get into close combat of it.

On my turn, I would roll to see how far the guards can move. The Bouny Hunter with a

jet-pack could roll 2 dice (2d6) to move. He also had two guns and could shoot twice. Ifmy troops were aiming at a Jedi, and rolled a hit, the Jedi could roll to use their light-sabers to deflect the shot. On a deflecting roll of 1, they would miss and get hit and die.On a deflection roll of 6, the shot would bounce back directly at the shooter and kill him.On any other number, they just deflect them away. Since Ahsoka has two light-sabers,she can re-roll if a 1 turns up.

The Canon could actually shoot a missile, so once per turn I would take a shot at one ofhis legos. This could not be deflected.

The guards of the Canon had a code on them for the Canon not to shoot them, so if

anyone made it to a guards body, they could stop the Canon from firing.

The game turned out well! I won both games, but we had a great time doing it.

In the first game, Luke rolled a 1 on the very first shot taken at him and died. TheTroops got killed quickly by the Guards and Ahsoka got blasted by the Cannon.

On the second game, Luke deflected the shots taken at him, and they bounced backand killed the Bouty Hunter and a Guard. One of the Troopers killed the other Guard.The Cannon ended up taking out both Ahsoka and Luke.

The next time we play, I think Ill make it so the Troopers have bombs on them so if theymake it to the Canon, they can take it out too.

The lego set used was 75013 which included the Cannon, Ahsoka, a clone trooper, andtwo Umberan soldiers. I also used Luke and Bobba Fett (we lost his helmet somewhereand I am devestated we cant find it!) from set 9496, and a tie bomber pilot from a littleset that included a mini-tiebomber and Asteroid Belt planet sphere, and Snow Speederpilot from a little set that had a mini Snow Speeder and Hoth planet sphere.
