Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the difference between BoB clubs and organisations like BNI and BRE
A. From the feedback received from our members (many of whom have been or still are members of these other networking clubs) these are the main differences between BoB clubs and the others:
BoB Clubs
• Meetings every 2 weeks o This halves the cost of the breakfast meetings by as much as £250 per year
• No Pressure to give referrals • Members just click on a link on our website to send their apologies if they can't make a meeting
• We only charge a £50 onoff registration fee + £200 annual membership • We reward our members with a £20 Voucher, redeemable against next years fees for each of their visitors who joins ANY BoB club
• We give all members a quality membership pack • Members have access to our online networking website at http://www.network2connect.com
• BoB clubs are sponsored by the Forum of Private Business • And Finally our Meetings are FUN
BNI • BNI hold meetings every week, which becomes boring • BNI put a lot of pressure on members to give referrals • BNI insist on attendance (some operate a 3strikesandyou'reout policy) • BNI charge £100 reg fee + £400 annual membership • BNI don't offer any reward for bringing in new members
Q. If a member wants to join a 2 nd Bob club do they get a discount? A. Yes, the registration fee for the 2 nd club is reduced by £20

Chairman’s Welcome address
Good morning ladies and gentleman, My Name is______ of________ and I am also the Chairperson of this club and I am pleased to welcome you all to the ______________ Business over Breakfast Club or BoB Club as it is rapidly becoming known. Can I also welcome all the members as well as visitors from other clubs and Guests.
For those of you who haven’t been to one of our clubs before – don’t worry this is a very friendly and informal club. Apart from enjoying a nice breakfast in these pleasant surroundings you will today have the opportunity to promote your business to the other people over breakfast. HOW DOES IT WORK? The concept is simple if everyone at this meeting has say just 100 business contacts that means that by using the very powerful medium of wordofmouthmarketing very soon your business could benefit by being promoted to between 2,000 to 3,000 businesses. The reason it works is because people buy from people and customers/clients hopefully trust the credibility of our members to recommend the goods and services of other club members.
To use the next 90 minutes most effectively, we stick to a standard running order so that everyone knows exactly what happens next. It also means that whichever club you visit the format is exactly the same.
Shortly we will be served with breakfast. But in the meantime can I ask everybody to give some thought as to what they are going to say during their 90second slot. Now, we all understand that standing up and talking to up to 20+ members, even for just 90 seconds can seem a little bit daunting. So if you don’t want to do it please ask the person who asked you along today and they will do it for you. When we get to your 90 second slot please tell us exactly what you are looking for as we may be able to help you. Don’t just say I’m John Smith I’m a decorator – tell us that you are looking for like introductions to hotels who maybe looking to refurbish all their rooms.
Enjoy your breakfast

No interruptions should be allowed as this disrupts the flow of the meeting and drags out the 60 second presentations – any questions should be asked at the end of the meeting during one to one discussions
9. Speakers session – 10 minutes Rota to be agreed in advance and issued by Club Chairman
10. Lead Generation NEW business (LG Exec) – 5 minutes THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE MEETING
The Chairman should explain how referrals should be texted between members at the earliest opportunity and whilst they are still warm IMPORTANT – each member in turn should be asked if they have any referrals and if not they should be asked to either give a testimonial or update on a referral they have received from a previous meeting. Guests and visitors should be asked to give a POSITIVE comment about the meeting. Visitors from other BoB clubs should be encouraged to invite members and guests to their own BoB club
11. Attendance and Finances (Secretary/Treasurer) 3 minutes
12. Announcements (Social secretary) – 3 minutes
13. Why visitors should consider joining a Bob club – only if visitors are in attendance The Chairman, Treasurer or RMC should explain the benefits and cost of joining a BoB club (See treasurers address sheet)
14. Closing Message (Chairperson)
Thank you for coming to this meeting of Business over Breakfast, we hope that you enjoyed meeting our members and have found it productive.
Don’t forget that even if there is not a vacancy for your business we are opening many other clubs around the Midlands and we may have a vacancy for you at one of our other clubs.
Being a member of Business over Breakfast is like having an unpaid sales force out there talking to the type of customers that you want and need to ensure your future business success. This only costs
you around £3.85 per week ! Remember – It’s not WHAT you know but WHO you know
Tips • Never allow a referral offered to a visitor to be used as an incentive to take up club
membership – Visitors are actually deterred from joining by this type of action.
• Always give visitors the same respect as members
• If a visitor can be seen to feeling uncomfortable about doing their 60 seconds allow them not to stand up or ask the member who invited the to do their slot
• Always stand up to address the meeting as the attendees will also stand up when doing their presentations
Encourage BoB club members to attend other B2B network meetings like those staged by Chambers of Commerce, Business Clubs (UK), BNI and BRE. This will help them expand their networks and will encourage other business people that they meet to visit your BoB club. Visitors are the lifeblood of

How to start a new BoB club
Forming a club No club will be allowed to open until it has a minimum of 15 members. Don’t be tempted to open a club before you have reached this number. It is quite easy to attract as many as 40 people to the inaugural meeting. However, the first question non members will ask is “how many members has the club got”. Any less than 15 members will not encourage new members to join up.
Find a suitable venue This could be at one of the following types of venues Hotel Pub Golf Club Sports club Conference centre
Things to take into consideration about the venue
Parking: – Plenty of FREE on site or on road parking
Cost: – Ideally less than £10 (including room hire). Most BoB clubs add £1 to the amount charged by the venue. The surplus goes into the clubs bank account and should be used to promote the club. Ie: Business cards, flyers etc. Some hotels may charge a surcharge on any cheques. However, most will not do this if asked. If there is a charge the member/guest must add this surcharge to the total on their cheque
Breakfast options: Full Cooked/Vegetarian option, Cereals, Yoghurts, Fruit, Toast
On Arrival: Orange Juice, Tea and Coffee should be available on arrival and be placed on the table
