as the Green Light Movement, and he has sponsored groups like
theSawyer Service Squad to get young people actively engaged

Alderman Sawyer has beenfighting to save good paying jobsby
sponsoring the PrivatizationTransparency and
AccountabilityOrdinance, endorsed by the BetterGovernment
Association andnumerous other organizations toavoid future bad
deals like theParking Meter deal.
Alderman Sawyer stood up forAfrican-American workers tocontinue
to earn a fair wage onconstruction projects andmore. He has
supportedprotests at Metra, Walmart,and local construction
projectsin the 6th Ward where African-American participation
waslacking. He also stood with#FightFor15 workers in the___

srlck T. Sawyer has been standing up forof Chicago. See some of
the projects heitact the 6th Ward Service Office withto support in
the future.
Alderman Sawyer fought alongside theChicago Police Department to
get illegalguns off of our streets and to ensure theconcealed carry
Illinois is implemented assafely as possible for our
community.Alderman Sawyer is aware that safetywill only come when
we provideopportunity so he has worked to openopportunities for
young p,eople.
Alderman Sawyer stood up forresidents and taxpayers by
votingagainst the speed cameraordinance, as well as the ordinanceto
confiscate tax returns for citydebt. He argues that you can
notbalance the budget on the backsof taxpayers.
Alderman Sawyer fought to keepour neighborhoods high quality.
Heled the budget fight to address theEmerald Ash Borer that has
beenkilling our trees, by winning moneyfor treatment and is working
formore this year. He has also workedfor multiple major sewer
projects inthe ward and led the revitalization ofour major
throughways with theIndiana and St. Lawrence lightingprojects as
well as delivering on thenewly repaved 83rd Street.

It has been my honor to stand up for you throughout these past
2years. I have been working hard to invest in my neighborhood and
it'speople so that the 6th Ward can remain the best ward in the
city.Every day that I am privileged to meet and work with neighbors
