Tiger Fans,

What an exciting time to be a UWA Tiger! On behalf of the University of West Alabama Department of Athletics, thank you for all your dedication and support.

In so many ways, your tireless efforts are pivotal to the success of our athletic programs as we strive to move forward in the coming years. Whether it was a strong turnout for the school’s first home NCAA Division II Football Playoff Game or the outpouring of support you showed while cheering on our Gulf South Conference Champions in women’s basketball, you have truly shown why we have the best fans in the country.

As we set our sights on achievements ahead, we recognize it is absolutely critical to give our alumni, fans, and students a product they can be proud of. The foundation has been laid, but we know the effort and intensity it will take to build UWA into one of the premiere programs in NCAA Division II athletics.

Realizing the role our department must take on, we ask that you come and be a part of it with us. By joining the Tiger Club you can share in our future success while helping the more than 300 student-athletes on the UWA campus.

he success of Tiger Athletics depends on the collective loyalty, generosity and support of UWA alumni and friends. You can be a special part of UWA’s success by joining the Tiger Club – an organization established to provide opportunities to more than 300 student- athletes in 14 intercollegiate sports. Contributions to the Tiger Club are used to provide support to UWA’s student athletes and give them the highest standard of training facilities and learning opportunities. Tiger Club members enjoy many benefits and privileges like invitations to special departmental events and priority consideration for all post-season games. These privileges are far outweighed, however, by the satisfaction of supporting the educational and athletic efforts of UWA’s student-athletes. The University of West Alabama’s Tiger Club is the vital link for the success of the Tiger athletics programs.

• UWA’s women’s basketball team celebrated the program’s first-ever Gulf South Conference Championship in 2012 with an unprecedented run the post-season.

• Tiger football hosted the school’s first-ever home NCAA Playoff Game in 2011, as Tiger Club members came out in droves to support UWA in its efforts to make history.

• In 2011, Tiger softball became the first team in school history to pick up an NCAA South Region Championship, while the squad made it to championship day of the 2012 South Region – all possible because of the generous support of Tiger Club members.

• The UWA men’s tennis team posted the most wins in school history on its way to the 2012 NCAA South Region Tournament. As Tiger tennis moves into the future, the support of the Tiger Club is pivotal.

• In 2012, 55 student athletes received their diplomas and 40 student athletes earned All GSC Honors for their performance in the classroom.

• The UWA Volleyball team rolled to a GSC East Division Championship in 2009 with the most wins in school history. That same year, Tiger football stormed into the playoffs, making it to the second round. Tiger Club members showed tremendous dedication and support every step of the way!
