SCBA Containment Fill Enclosures for Mobile Applications

Stallion mobile SCBA fill enclosures are independently tested in compliance with NFPA 1901 standards. Enclosures were tested with bottle pressures of 5500 psi to accommodate recent fire service product additions that utilize this pressure.

These enclosures have a front-to-back depth less than 21” making them ideal for mounting in apparatus compartments.

The adjustable door opening height accommodates various apparatus floor-to-ground heights by opening to approximately 90°. The balanced door also incorporates a two-stage opening design that allows for ergonomic cylinder loading, as well as easy cylinder connection. The door closure and latch mechanisms are completely mechanical and do not require pneumatic pressure for operation. The door is self-latching with redundant mechanisms. The latch release mechanism is integrated into the handle and, therefore, requires no secondary mechanism for latch operation. The fill enclosures will accommodate cylinder lengths that exceed 31” in length. An internally or externally mounted safety valve ensures that fill whips cannot be charged with the door open.

Stallion Stationary Containment Fill Enclosures provide an aesthetically pleasing solution to adding a certified cylinder refill station to your facility. Whether you are upgrading your existing system or purchasing as a component along with a Stallion compressor, these packages will help you organize your air system.

In addition to a NFPA 1901 compliant fill enclosure, these packages also provide an air management panel and storage vessel mounting rack inside of the cabinet. The storage vessel rack will accommodate either ASME or ISO vessels. You can use vessels that you already own or have new ones installed at the factory.

The cabinets and panels of Stallion stationary fill enclosures are constructed to compliment the cabinetry of Pegasus and Gidran compressors. This gives your system the “matching appliance” look.

Do you need to fill the cylinders on your ladder, aerial or heavy rescue on the other side of the station? Not a problem! The Stallion hose reel module can be added to these fill stations and integrated into the air management panel.

Do you need remote fill capabilities but don’t want a hose reel? We’ve still got you covered. Stallion air management panels include a remote hose connection port and control valve as a standard item. Simply get a length of hose with the appropriate fill adaptor and you are in business.

Stallion fill enclosures do not rely on complicated pneumatic controls to open or close the door. The door mechanisms are mechanical and balanced to provide easy opening and closing. The door latch mechanism is redundant and integrated into the door handle. No secondary latch mechanism is necessary.

Filling 1 hour SCBAs and SCUBA tanks is not a problem for the Stallion fill enclosures. The fill enclosure accommodates cylinders greater than 31” long. Not only that, we’ve made it easy to load and connect any cylinder you are filling. The fill enclosure door has a two-stage opening feature - one height allows for ergonomic loading, the other positions the bottle connections at an ergonomic work height.

Lab On Locale 2 ™

The gap has been closed on the process of getting your air/gas sample to a qualified lab for analysis! Stallion Air, Inc. and X-zam Labs

® brings the Lab directly to you – on your compressor!

This technological breakthrough, Lab On Locale 2™, is an accredited system that enables analysis of breathing-air and inert-gas specimens on demand, in real time, via electronic transmission.

The system utilizes a two-part set of instruments. The first part is the specimen end, which is a user friendly sending unit integrated directly into your Stallion compressor. Gas specimens are first collected on the sending unit and "sent" via DSL modem, cable modem or wireless network to the second part of the system, the X-zam Lab

®.

After the electronic transmission arrives at the lab, the specimen’s data is processed. Only minutes later, test reports are transmitted back to the sending unit. No more searching for misplaced air test records!

The Lab On Locale 2 ™ system is a revolutionary approach to air/gas analysis, providing nearly instantaneous test results while eliminating the inconveniences, time lapses, and logistical difficulties associated with traditional means of transporting specimens.

Wouldn’t it be nice if your breathing air system continuously monitored air quality to the degree that laboratory testing provides? If this is something you have wished for, then wish no more! In addition to simplifying air quality compliance requirements, the Lab On Locale 2 ™ integrated into a Stallion compressor also provides real-time, continuous, lab-quality monitoring during air system operation. This definitely raises the bar for air system monitoring!

Since the Lab On Locale 2 ™ is integrated into the Stallion air system, it has the ability to stop the system if air quality is compromised – and then tell you what the problem is! This can prevent filling storage vessels with non-compliant air that might have previously gone undetected.

To take this one step further, the Lab On Locale 2 ™ is not afraid to tattle! If you are an agency administrator responsible for your air system and wonder what happens when you are off-site, well Stallion and Lab On Locale 2 ™ are here to help! The Lab On Locale 2 ™ can notify you electronically if the system detects an air quality problem and shuts down. The system can provide a text message or email to multiple recipients describing the problem.

Should you prefer to collect air quality samples in a traditional fashion, the Lab On Locale 2™ can still be integrated into a Stallion air system, providing the same lab-quality, real-time monitoring.

Stallion Air, Inc. and X-zam Labs® welcomes you to air quality testing for the 21

st century!

Air Quality Monitors

Carbon Monoxide Monitor NFPA recommends the use of a carbon monoxide (CO) monitor with compressor systems producing breathing air for the fire service. Stallion Air, Inc. concurs with this NFPA recommendation and has made provisions for the integration of automated CO monitoring in all compressors that we manufacture.

Stallion offers an economical option for CO monitoring that requires minimal operator involvement. The monitor requires periodic checks to verify sensor function via a simple external test, but no user calibration.

CO monitoring is fully integrated into the compressor’s control system. Messages and alarms are displayed and clearly described on the system touch screen.

Stallion is pleased to introduce a completely automated solution for air management during the cylinder refill process!

Efficient use of stored air has been one of the biggest challenges faced by air system operators. It only takes forgetting to close a valve during the cascade process to loose that precious high bank pressure.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the system could remind us that the valve was left open? Or better yet, wouldn’t it be nice if the system would close it for us? Well, now it will. In fact, it will open the bank valves and close them for us - in the right order! To make it even better, it will keep up with all the system pressures - the banks, the compressor and the cylinders being filled. This is truly a hands-off system.

The way it works is this:

Pressure transducers continuously inform the control system of the system pressures values. The Stallion Auto-Fill System uses this information to open and close automated valves to efficiently “cascade” air from the storage banks and compressor into the cylinders being filled. When the cylinders being filled reach the desired pressure, the controller closes the fill valve and stops the filling process. This prevents cylinders from being over-filled and uses stored air in the most efficient way possible.

Seems pretty simple, right? Actually, with the technology available today, it is. Other than the sophistication of the technology being used, it simply does the same things that a good air system operator would - without forgetting to close valves.

The entire process occurs where we can see it happen - on a screen on the air management panel. The Stallion Auto-Fill System uses a digital touch screen to display the entire status of the system while it is in operation. Virtual storage vessels, valves and the cylinders being filled are displayed in real time so the operator can monitor the operation if they choose. The system is also smart enough to know if we have overlooked something else - like forgetting to open a cylinder valve, or a fill line valve.

So, maybe you distrust technology somewhat and don’t want to totally depend on a machine to perform these functions. That’s OK too. The Stallion Auto-Fill System has full manual redundancy, meaning that you can open and close valves by hand if you choose. We respect that. Furthermore, we want you to be able to use your stored air if the power goes off.

Since the system is fully manually redundant, here is something else to consider. How many times have you been given the task of training new operators on the use of a cascade system? Let the system demonstrate the process to a new operator. This is one of the best ways available to teach the “cascade” process.

The Stallion Auto-Fill System is an available option on Centaur complete systems and SACF stationary fill enclosures. It can also be integrated into custom air management panels for use on mobile systems such as trailers and fire apparatus.

In these days of smart phones, tablet computers, and smart cars, we feel that air system technology should keep up with the rest of the world. The Stallion Auto-Fill System is a step in this direction. If you are interested in a 21

st century
