SECRET FIXING STAIR NOSINGSSecret Fixing (Drill & No Plug) Stair Nosings are available on Z, H and S-Ranges.

There is no price difference, simply request “secret fixing” when placing your order.

When on-site, check step measurements with cut Stair Nosings supplied. Trim if required. Prepare step edge surfaces. They must be clean, smooth and clear of debris.

Apply a cartridge adhesive to Stair Nosing and tread as per the manufacturers’ instructions.

Starting with the first Stair Nosing on the top step, press down and screw into position, then continue down the stairs. (1” no. 6 screws recommended). Move down to the next step, repeat steps 3 and 4.

Fit floorcovering to treads.

5

Trim tread material lengths to respective Stair Nosing width. Working a step at a time from the top of the stair downwards, peel off release paper from adhesive in channel(s).

Apply tread material into channel – start at one end and carefully roll into channel to expel air. Trim end of tread material if necessary. Apply pressure using a hand roller to ensure adequate bond.

Fit riser floorcovering to all risers if applicable.

For stone or concrete steps use Stair Nosings as template and mark screw locations on each tread. Drill and plug screw holes.


FLEXIBLE PVC STAIR NOSING

THE FLEXIBLE PVC RANGE

This selection of Flexible PVC profiles can be used when a quick and/or temporary fitting of a Stair Nosing is required. They are supplied pre-boxed and are easily cut and trimmed on-site where they can be fitted without waiting for fully cut and drilled measured Stair Nosings. Benefits include:

» Can be curved around gentle radii without templating

» Priced to give good value

» Rake backed Stair Nosings will also accommodate flat steps

STAIR EDGING TRIMSAlso known as ‘angles’ stair edging trims are essential in providing a safe and aesthetically pleasing finish to the sides of steps on open string stairs.

Available in Aluminium or uPVC in pre-formed angles of 90° for straight steps and 83° for rake back steps. Installed using positioning tabs (supplied) that can accommodate the relevant thickness of the floorcovering on the stair. Trims are also available in longer lengths, for installation on landings.
