Science, Engineering and Technology Group Department of Electrical Engineering STADIUS CENTER FOR DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS, SIGNAL PROCESSING AND DATA ANALYTICS Introduction STADIUS Center for Dynamical Systems, Signal Processing and Data Analytics is an inter- nationally leading research group in information proces- sing through mathematical engineering in signals, sys- tems and control, data-driven modeling and analytics, optimi- zation, and applied fields. Its uniqueness lies in the diverse use of generic information processing such as numerical linear and multilinear algebra, statistics, differential geometry, and optimization. The center is continuously looking for new applications to address societal questions and issues with innovative mathematical and technological solutions. Research profile STADIUS draws concepts from mathematical fields such as linear and multi-linear algebra, statistics, discrete mathematics, differential geometry, optimization, etc. Its strategic basic research is focused on generic translations of basic concepts into algorithmic implementations, focusing on numerical linear algebra issues as well as software and hardware implementation issues. Our ultimate goal is to prove that such mathematical modeling based algorithms provide significant performance improvement. To this aim, three specific application fields are targeted, namely digital communications, biomedicine and modeling and control of industrial processes and mechatronic products. STADIUS CENTER FOR DYNAMICALSYSTEMS, SIGNAL PROCESSINGAND DATA ANALYTICS

IntroductionSTADIUS Center for DynamicalSystems, Signal Processingand Data Analytics is an inter -nationally leading researchgroup in information proces -sing through mathematicalengineering in signals, sys -tems and control, data-drivenmodeling and analytics, optimi -zation, and applied fields. Its uniqueness lies in the diverseuse of generic informationprocessing such as numericallinear and multilinear algebra, statistics, differential geometry, and optimization. The center is continuously looking for newapplications to address societal questions and issues withinnovative mathematical and technological solutions.

Research profile STADIUS draws concepts from mathematical fields suchas linear and multi-linear algebra, statistics, discretemathematics, differential geometry, optimization, etc. Its strategic basic research is focused on generic translationsof basic concepts into algorithmic implementations, focusingon numerical linear algebra issues as well as software andhardware implementation issues. Our ultimate goal is toprove that such mathematical modeling based algorithmsprovide significant performance improvement. To this aim, three specific application fields are targeted, namely digitalcommunications, biomedicine and modeling and controlof industrial processes and mechatronic products.
