The Prayer Challenge January 2019

Challenge #1: Grace Before All Meals

Say this prayer before every meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—whether ea ng alone, as a family, or in a group...at home, in a restaurant, at the office, etc. Saying Grace isn’t just for before dinner. In the tradi onal Catholic Grace prayer used before a meal, we acknowledge our dependence on God and ask Him to bless us and our food.

Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gi s, which we are about to receive

from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

In addi on to providing for ministries and services throughout the Archdiocese, the Appeal also funds services that are of great help here in our Parish.

As we contemplate God’s many gi s to us, we should also reflect on our gra tude. Your financial support for the work of our Parish, our Archdiocese, and the Church throughout the world is one way to express this gra tude. Please give generously to the 2019 Annual Catholic Appeal.

This weekend we begin Ordinary Time and the season of Christmas is concluded. Sincere thanks to all of the volunteers in the St. Theresa Music Ministry who gave so much to make the holy season of Christmas so very special! On Christmas Eve, the parish children’s choir led joyous song at the 3:00 p.m. with some of our high school instrumentalists; the folk group maintained their tradi on of leading music at the 5 p.m. and the Jubilee Choir and a large group of our young adult instrumentalists supported the singing at the midnight mass. Our 10:00 Mass was well served by the Adult Choir. It is my hope that the musical offerings presented to the parish by the many devoted volunteers in the music ministry enriched your prayer throughout the holy days of Christmas.
